The learning curve difference between piano and guitar (esp as an adult learner) is so funny to me. Like.
Piano: Okay! Here are your scales and HERE are your arpeggios and HERE are thirty million exercises. Oh and some tiny baby songs. Yes, songs for babies. Babies play these routinely. There are five-year-olds more proficient than you. How does that feel? Does it burn? Does it ache? How's your form? Are you carrying too much tension? From the ache?
Guitar: heya bud. here's 3 chords. you can now play about 50% of the songs you want to play. now here's F. careful, she's tricky! haha. you can now play 90% of all songs every written. have fun!
I finished K-On!
Season 1 at least. Will be starting season 2 sometime on the weekend. It's nice to finally be watching a show I know is very important in the culture of anime, even if it's time is past.
I really love all the outfits. This is a good show to watch to get fashion ideas. Almost every episode had some outfit me and my friend wanted.
Look at Mio's outfit here. I would absolutely wear this if I had confidence and some slight body changes I need to work on. However, my personal body goals are a topic for another time.
I'm absolutely Mio. The shy and responsible one. I have hair almost that long too, though sadly it's not black. She's easily my favorite and the character I relate to most. Poor girl has to wrangle so much and then confront stuff outside her comfort zone often.
My best friend is of course Yui and funnily is only now coming to that conclusion on a rewatch.
It's also inspiring me to learn music! I bought a keyboard!
It's on the couch and now the floor until the stand arrives later this week. So I haven't had a chance to really use it. Just moving it took a lot of effort. Still, look at it! I'm going to learn how to make music! Even if it will be months before I even have a real grasp on just the basics.
It's a Yamaha P-255. I wanted the P-125, but its seems its discounted and I just figured might as well get this one instead then try and hunt it down. I'm excited!
K-On is a wonderful show so far, and I almost got everything I need to start learning a new hobby. I recommend both! It's a good anime and if you have something you want to learn, go learn it. Worry about if it doesn't work out never, just enjoy the process.
I’m a fetishist for learning different ways in which people walk, and an enthusiast for hands over and under without exception, though I haven’t put my hands over or under anything much since I began learning how to do Music, so scratch that
For the first time in over a year I had enough energy to lift up my arms for ten minutes of violin practice.
It's a small win, but still a win nonetheless!
Screw you fibromyalgia, I WILL learn to play the violin eventually 💜🎻
learning to play keyboard and starting with the basics
Bass guitar Ural – magical music instrument and pick Alice
So, I am learning music. I wanted this for a long time, as I can say. And so, a little about a music. So, it is a funny point, that bass has only 4 strings. And electro guitar has lots – 6 strings. So, something like, according to this point, bass looks easier. But, it only seems this way. But strings are fat. And it seems for me, that for a start – it will be easier with bass. Something to pull. Pull the strings.
