Summary: They have to leave when their kid cries for them not to go — Minho editon
Content: fluff!
A/N: This one ended up being the softest out of all of them. It's just Minho being a good dad and knowing how to calm down his son.

You bounce Jum on your hip as you ride the elevator to give Minho his lunch. This morning, he woke up late and in his rush to leave, he forgot to take his lunch. Knowing your husband all too well, you know he won’t eat if he doesn’t have food to remind him. So here you are, reminding him. The elevator door dings open and you step out with a very shocked Jum. He looks around at the unfamiliar building with wide eyes. Anytime you pass someone, he leans a little further into you, watching them with the same cat like stare as his father. With a light knock, you step into the dance studio to find the boys all sprawled out across the floor, chatting and resting after practice. No one having noticed you yet, you gently set Jum down and point towards Minho who is looking through his bag, probably for his missing lunch. Jum locks on target and waddles over to his father, clutching onto his leg with a happy squeal. All eyes turn to Minho who slowly looks down, incredibly confused. Jum just looks up at him with grabby hands.
“Am I hallucinating?” He bends down to pick up his son who happily nuzzles into his neck.
“How did he get here?” Hyunjin questions.
“Did Y/N let him come by himself?” Han gasps like he figured out a conspiracy.
You laugh from your spot in the doorway, turning all eyes on you now. “Han Jisung, do you really think I would let my child walk all the way here alone?”
“I don’t know! Maybe it’s some new parenting trick you were trying out.” Han holds his hands up in defense, earning an eye roll from about half the room. You walk over to your husband who is slightly less confused, but still unsure as to why you are here, not that he is complaining.
You hold up the bag in your hand, “You forgot your lunch.”
“You didn’t have to come all the way here.” He leans forward and presses a kiss on your lips.
“No, but I know you prefer homemade food to cafeteria food and I had some extra time. Plus Jum is being extra clingy today, so I thought he might enjoy seeing you.” You rub your sons back who is still snuggled into Minho’s neck.
“What did I do to deserve you?”
“You’re just lucky I guess.” You smirk, pressing another lingering kiss on his lips.
“Can you take your PDA somewhere else please?” Seungmin groans from the corner.
“Jealous, Seungmin?” Minho teases.
“Disgusted, actually.”
You grab Minho’s hand and lead him out of the studio to find a quieter place to sit and eat. You have a nice lunch together, Jum never once leaving Minho’s arms. Walking back into the studio, you are about to leave when Chan stops you. “Hey Y/N, wanna watch our practice real quick? You can give us some pointers.”
You laugh, “I don’t know how much help I’ll be, but I’ll never say no to watching you guys dance.”
“You mean watching me dance,” Minho corrects.
You roll your eyes and reach to take Jum out of his arms, but he stubbornly stuffs his face into Minho’s shoulder and clenches onto his shirt. “Stubborn like your father.” You shake your head and try to take him again, this time earning a squeal from him.
“Hey, look buddy, it’s okay. I’m still right here.” Minho steps back, but gives a little wave to show he isn’t going anywhere. Jum gives a more confused squeal as Minho moves towards the middle of the room. You sit back against the wall with Jum in your lap who is still trying to fight your grip and get back to his father. As soon as the music starts and Minho turns around to get in formation, Jum starts wailing. You try bouncing him on your knee.
“It’s okay. Look, Appa is just dancing.” You point to where Minho is standing, but as he weaves in and out of your line of sight, Jum get’s more confused and frustrated. You feel bad for having a screaming child in a very echoey dance studio, but before things get too out of hand Minho swiftly passes you and picks up Jum before sliding back into formation. The music continues and everyone keeps dancing with the addition of your son giggling as he sits on his father’s hip. Minho being the professional he is keeps formation without jostling his son too much. Everyone looks confused as they realize there is now a child involved, but Jum is having the time of his life. With every turn and slide, Jum lets out a giggle and claps with the music or as close as he can get for a toddler. You smile as you watch Minho dance with his son, a bright smile on both of their faces. The song ends and Minho looks at Jum with mock seriousness, “I’ve got some notes on your timing. For starters, you were totally clapping off beat.” Jum just looks at him with a happy giggle and claps again. Minho nods. “Better. We’ll work on it.”
You walk over to them with a loving smile, “Are you already turning our son into a professional dancer?”
“Oh, please. Have you seen how he dances at home? It’s in his blood.”
“Then you can be the one to drive him to all the dance lessons.”
“Drive him? I’m going to be the one teaching him.”
“We’ll see about that.” You reach to take Jum back, his eyes drooping as the afternoon crash starts to hit. “Looks like it’s time for someone to take a nap.”
“Sounds like a great idea.” Minho yawns, leaning his head against your shoulder.
“Not you.” You shove him off and take your son out of his hold. Jum’s head perks up and a half cry comes out as he sleepily looks around for Minho. Despite leaning his head on your shoulder, he still makes grabby hands towards his father and gives a half hearted cry.
“Even in his sleep he prefers me.”
You lightly hit Minho on the chest, “I’ll remember that statement next time he wakes up in the middle of the night.”
Jum gives half hearted cries and sniffles as you leave the studio. Minho kisses him on the top of the head earning a soft broken, “Appa!”
Minho doesn’t often melt, but when he does it is because of his son. He turns away, “Go, before I keep him for the rest of the day.”
You laugh at the rare sight of your husband being a softy and begin to exit the building. Jum lazily reaches over your shoulder towards Minho when his hand flops as sleep finally takes him.
“Night buddy. I hope you have good dreams about dancing.” Minho blows him a kiss before stepping back into the studio to finish practice.
