I really do believe that we live on in the memories of other people and we form our long lasting legacy in this world through our bonds with others.

Just today, I was inspired by a girl I’ve only talked to a few times because of how I remembered her. I remembered her to be outspoken and well-learned. I remembered she always firmly spoke up about her beliefs and I, because of the convenient tool we call social media, I remembered that only a few years ago, younger me adored her and she was my role-model. She still is, and this proves my point.

Today I remembered the girl who I haven’t spoken to in a while who helped me remember that nobody has to go through this alone.

Today I remembered the girl who motivated me to work hard and strive to be better and never settle for less.

Today I remembered the boy who reminded me to remember who I was.

They probably don’t even remember doing all of this for me, heck they probably don’t even think about me anymore, but they are a part of who I am and I’m part of their legacy now.

I believe that the people we surround ourselves with or at least the people who surround us can change us and make us who we are, and I think that that’s beautiful.
