Nine Tails: Pokémon or Myth?
When hearing of a fox creature with nine tails many of my fellow nerds and geeks will think of the Pokémon known as nine tails. But this isn’t a Pokémon blog is it? This creature I speak of is known as the Kitsune a Japanese creature of folktale. Now the word “kitsune” translates to fox in Japanese but in this case we’re referring to the magical ones with many tails. When Kitsune’s are in their young days they look like your average fox, orange and a single bushy tail. Yet as they age they become more mythical looking, every 100 years they grow a new tail as well as their pelt begins to change color from orange to golden to white. By the time a kitsune reaches it’s hundredth birthday it gains the ability to shapeshift. A kitsune will often shift into a wise old man or an elegant young lady. While these cute mystical beings seem pure and cute some are malevolent beings who enjoy trickery mayhem yet there are plenty who are benevolent and enjoy existing as ethereal ancient fox beings. What a life to be an ancient magical fox~
