地縛少年花子くん Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (2025) | 2.04 studio. Lerche
For people who follow me, it's probably apparent by now that horror is my fave genre: I love all kinds of horror whether it's shlock, psychological, zombies, vampires... I don't care, I love it all! School-Live! (2015) is one of a handful of anime I can say that genuinely surprised me. I didn't even really know what it was about, I had just heard that it's not what it appears to be.
Watching it was a hell of a journey, it continued surprising me and upping the ante and I was really quite emotional by the end of it all. I truly enjoyed every second I spent with this anime and I think about the characters often, years after having watched it.
Something interesting about this release is that it has an opaque plastic slipcase, which is unusual (usually, they're cardboard). It's a nice change because it feels more durable and premium. 。 ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ 。

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Lerche 2020
Once again, censorship has eaten up the plot, making the anime look kawaii 0+ media -> 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻Hakusumi has no fans, no one cares 😃😃 Hanako is a _horror_ to the same extent as a slice-of-life comedy, but let's make it just a romance and nothing more (romance for the permitted groups, of course, not for yours these ew 🙄 which Aidairo THEMSELVES wrote the way they did, and it would be shameful to abandon that) We all went out for a walk! What a young exorcist? Kou's just a funny boy in the background, whose reveal then seems sudden. Yandere Akane? Choking Aoi? Oh no, he was just sweetly holding her chin in a vanilla sunset. A demon ironically eating his love, after ending his arc with an exhaustive dialogue with her? And we'll cut this out, why scare the kids? ((( Btw, they're of course watching it in kindergartens, it's not the people aged 14-30 who should be able to comprehend the darker moments of the story. We won't even make Tsukasa's eyes black, uwu. And we won't remove Hanako's glare for the sake of a lifeless look! He'll be ✨✨✨🥺🥺🥺 with his babyface, it allows you to take him seriously, like a suspicious old ghost! Lerches are complete weaklings and cowards.
They can be forgiven for a lot, of course, hooray, hooray, we have anime, so what if there are some bad frames, haha. But cutting out everything that is "not cute" and changing creepy moments to "cute" is just pathetic, to be honest. There's the nightlife arc coming up. Sure, they'll probably crank up the romance to the max, but what about the tense and dark scenes? Will they even include them? Or will they make them "decent cute" again? Or will this arc somehow be fine, and only others get this shit? I don't know anymore. It's not that the anime is terrible, but it constantly leaves a bad taste in your mouth with their decisions about lighting, coloring, and scene emphasis. Ultimately, a product created as a horror and drama franchise is consumed by children who can't read, and is in the hands of adults who pander to these children by making everything seem cute. Other fans seem out of place here, especially Aida and Iro, who are themselves the biggest fans of the problematic matter in their work. Ironic, isn't it?
And your Mitsuba will probably have shiny pink eyes during scenes of eating and suffering! Hah. Haha
