'OshiRabu' Yuri Comedy Games Released on Nintendo Switch

On April 28, PROTOTYPE released a bundle of SukeraSomero's Yuri comedy visual novel series Oshirabu digitally on Nintendo Switch. The bundle contains both the original OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos (Oshi no Love yori Koi no Love) and its sequel Love･or･die.

OshiRabu is a 2020 Yuri visual novel following an unlucky otaku who accidentally proposes to another girl who ends up living with her. the game's PC publisher, HUBLOTS, describes the game:

Akuru Hayahoshi is an unlucky otaku office worker who just can't pull her husbando in the gacha game she's obsessed with, no matter how much money she throws at it. Until one day, she runs into the garishly gorgeous and freakishly lucky Ren Furutachi.

A series of misunderstandings lead to a proposal, and Ren starts to full-on pursue Akuru. One thing leads to another, and in order to bring her husbando home, she ends up... bringing Ren home?! Now they're sharing a house... and a bed?! To unpresuming Akuru this cool, lady-loving girl might as well be an alien!

Akuru wants her husbando, and Ren wants Akuru as her waifu... Are these two ever gonna end up together?!

Love･or･die is the 2021 follow-up continuing Akuru and Ren's journey as the two prepare for their shotgun wedding. HUBLOTS describes the game:

It's been a year since the couple started living together in blissful cohabitation. One day, Akuru catches a glimpse of Ren's plans for after she graduates: "Number 1 life goal: Marry Akuru!"

Of course, Akuru's not interested in marriage... But one day, struck by a fit of jealousy over Ren's long-time friend, Aira Udou, she ends up unthinkingly accepting Ren's proposal.

By the time she realizes what she's done, it's too late... Ren's already in bridezilla mode and starting to plan the wedding!

Both OshiRabu games are written by Oguri Aya and feature character designs and CG artwork by DSmile. The games are fully voiced in Japanese and star Nekomura Yuki, Kitaooji Yuki, Waou Kirika, and Hina Hazuki.

The games can be played in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. The English version is translated by Meru. An 18+ DLC is available for both games in the series on PC. The DLC content is not included in the Switch release.

YuriMother reviewed OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos and awarded the game a 5/10 score, praising the artwork, voice acting, and open use and discussion of LGBTQ+ identity, but criticized its characters, story, and use of fanservice.

OshiRabu is developed by SukeraSomero, a Japanese visual novel developer and the sister brand of SukeraSparo, developers of games like The Expression Amrilato and The Curse of Kudan. The brand's name comes from the Esperanto words for "sugary" and "summer." Their mission is to fill the world with Yuri.
