#16 was Toxic, covered by Reinaeiry, originally by Britney Spears.

On the one hand this cover suffers from the common problem of a primaily acoustic themed cover simply not being as much of a banger as the original, but goddamn it does come close!!

It helps a lot that the singer is also a talented voice actress, and always presents her work specifically as performance pieces, so they vocals are great. Very evocative without getting in the way of the music.

Like I don't know anything about this person. I had to double check if she even has pronouns on her socials (yes, she/her). I have no idea if she's ever VA'ed intentionally or professionally, but that's irrelevant to the fact that she's an excellent actress on top of her music.

Like, did she go to theatre/music college? Is she classically trained? Self taught? No idea, and no desire to learn.

What matters is 1) her voice is great to listen to 2) her acting is also great to listen to.

Elphaba will throw herself in front of her girlfriend if there is a bee. She has been stung plenty of times. If it's not in front of Glinda, she is not too proud to admit that it doesn't hurt any less, no matter how many times it's happened.

Are people aware that SOME Enbies are happy being called 'girlfriend' or 'boyfriend', even if they use they/them pronouns? Like, I get it, people want rep and whatever, but as a Andro/Masc enbie, I literally DREAM about being called someone's girlfriend. Labels are funky once you step off the binary, the show has done amazingly with Syd, I think people just need to pull the sticks from their backsides.

You’re never going to make everyone happy. I’ve seen posts about Syd on both sides of the discussion. I know for a fact that the ODAAT team didn’t just loosely toss out the term girlfriend and that they did their research and asked and debated. For all we know nothing changes and Syd is okay with Elena calling them girlfriend. The one thing ODAAT is good at doing is facilitating discussion. We’ll see how it goes.
