As my daughter continues to grow, we stopped in at a department store to get properly sized for bras this week. I don't mind buying such from cheaper stores but I had to show her (and remind myself) somethings are just worth the investment..and sometimes when you think short-cutting an expense will save now, it can cost so much more down the line. The older I get, the more I realize somethings honestly do take away from a long, quality life...like cheap shoes and flimsy bras. We had a talk about getting your nonnegotiables right!!! #transformationTuesday 💚 #mirrorMagic Reflections 💚I had a dream this morning where I was walking with another woman artist I know. She asked me to do a super simple favor for her...like hold something for 5secs..or something crazy simple. We kept walking and got a little further down the street, then I see her pulling out a $5 bill to pay me for the simple/common "favor". I said "No, you don't have to pay me for common courtesy, Sis." She scuffed it off and mumbled "your loss". But was it? Although I appreciated the gesture, it was like spirit showing me where this sister was really at and even more so, I feel like it was a reflection or test on where I'm at. I was reminded today of a couple things: #1 common courtesy isn't so common. Ive had this conversation with other artists before..so many are still in this "I gotta get mine/you gotta get yours" type of mentality. Still. We don't want to share resources, connects, or even compliments because we feel like we're in competition and if I give you some, I might not have enough... This is insecurity/lack or fear.
