i had a dramione dream a long time ago in which draco was this lestat-type old age vampire who spent his life looking for his soulmate until he found hermione the human, who lived her human life in the company of lestat!draco and then passed away, only to reincarnate, grow up, meet lestat!draco and spend her life with him again and this repeated over several hundred years and several hermione iterations until her very last reincarnation which caused lestat!draco to actually age and they both passed away into eternity together. it was this beautiful dream where lestat!draco had spent his long life waiting and searching for hermione's variants and dedicating his life to her. he even had this room of paintings of pictures of each of her variants, because she really was the only one for him.

ever since then, whenever i read a fic for any one ship, i treat all of the previously read fics for that ship are just previous reincarnations of that ship and thinking about it like that really enhances my experience of reading fanfic, especially slow-burn, because it just adds to the richness of the ship in my head. truly one thousand yearning lifetimes for the same two idiots over and over again until they age into oblivion into the cupboards at the back of my mind.

cornflowers - the primordial lestat aesthetic

I love cornflowers, they are my favourite flowers by far. There are a couple of reasons for that: They are to me the essential image of the blue flower, as mentioned by Novalis and thusly coined the symbol of romanticism, which is one of my favourite literary eras, only succeeded by expressionism which is the era of art and writing with which I can totally empathize with. And since the blue horse is the symbol for expressionism, it was inspired by the blue flower of the romanticists, I think it makes sense for that to be my favourite flower. The shape is really lovely, I don’t much care for those types of flowers that are so overbearing with the shape for their blossom like roses for example, that they look heavy and stiff. I prefer the smaller more nimble looking flowers.

I think they are the essence of LestatAesthetic™ because obviously they grow in wheat which is exactly the colour that I imagine his hair to be, so the little specs of vibrant blue that could be his eyes or his clothes, are sprinkled through the gold of the corn. I could imagine very well, Lestat wearing a big flower crown made of pretty little cornflowers and his hair tumbling about the blossoms like the wheat grows around those flowers. It just evokes that feeling in my opinion. Also I think the ideals and themes  of romanticism suit him and the whole first novel well, though not quite perfectly perhaps... In romanticism the idea of yearning for something that is unknown and far away is very prominent. The term “Fernweh” comes to mind (Fern = far away Weh= Pain, like the aching to be far away). Also the search for some ideal that is not even clearly defined but yet very dearly yearned for and needed in the romanticists heart is very important and very reminiscent of the vampires’ search for meaning and so on. 

A lot of rambling, sorry for that. But I think it’s intresting.

If Lestat had a Instagram

I've been thinking about this for awhile now because the new IWTV show is having the characters set during modern day so what if Lestat had social media? 👀Especially him being such an obnoxious vain rich guy, I think Lestat is the type to have a social media. 💯He also has a darkly charismatic personality so he would be very popular online. He'd have millions of cult-like followers and he would post incredibly bold things that are not politically correct, naughty, and horribly offensive.So he would regularly get banned and then un-banned all the time. 😖He would be very controversial on social media and in real life - due to his rock star celebrity past and bratty, rebellious attitude of still exposing his vampire nature to the human world for his own sadistic fun. 😅I'm not that dumb so I definitely would NOT openly follow Lestat like the other millions of stupid humans who would think it's totallyyy safe to follow a hot psychotic vampire and not end up hunted and eaten. 🙄For my own safety, I would not click like or comment on his posts and keep my distance but I would lurk on his social media page and keep an eye on what he's posting about because I'd have a morbid curiosity in all the trouble and drama that Lestat would get himself into online. 😅I would privately gossip about his horrible antics on social media because I feel like Lestat would be a fascinating train wreck for me to watch and secretly talk shit about. 🤣Just like he is for me in the TV show. 🤭Season 2 is not out yet and I'm not 100% sure what the production writers are planning to do with modern Lestat ??? I'll find out next year in 2024. 😁But for this post, I used a combination of Sam Reid's portrayal of TV Lestat in season 1, also mixed with Anne Rice's portrayal of book Lestat, and my imagination for fun! 😆I edited the photos to look like real Instagram posts so you might have to zoom in to read the captions clearly or just look at the photos but it is accurate to what I imagine Lestat's instagram page would look. 😂😂😂
