Dalmascan Refugee-Evangeline was a refugee from Dalmasca when it fell to the Garlean empire when she was 13 years old. She fled with her mother and her step-mother, but the rest of her extended family was slain trying to escape, or hold off the Garleans. Other refugees may recognize her, or at least be able to connect with her through shared trauma.
Former Immortal Flame-Evangeline served with the Immortal Flames for twelve years after apprenticing as a blacksmith in Gridania. She led her own squad, until they were ambushed by Garleans outside of Horizon. Everyone in her squad was killed, and she was taken prisoner and beaten nearly to death. After her eventual rescue, she was honorably discharged due to her extreme PTSD and depression brought on by the event. If you were a flame, you may have heard of her, or at least of Squad 14.

Kiara is bubbly, cheerful, and engages others with an almost child-like fascination. Good or evil, friend or foe, she just finds people utterly interesting and wants to know everything she can about them. She’s got a knack for hitting nerves and figuring out people’s motivations, goals, and what makes them tick.
While she would personally prefer to settle disputes with diplomacy and a silver tongue, absolutely nothing is morally off-limits to her if she’s doing it for the sake of someone she cares about. Blackmail, defamation, deception, and even murder/assassination is all fair game if a friend’s happiness or well-being is at stake.
She learned to play the lute and ukulele on the Lominsan docks, so most of her music takes inspiration from sea shanties. Some were even learned directly from pirates/privateers and sailors.
