Lockwood and co. is genuinely the first show to make me doubt if a character was on the gaydar or not
Though in the end, I just decided: Welp, they’re all European so I’ll just watch and see :/

Midnight Dynasty concert scene thought up by @falseprophet / @readitnreap, also known as the person behind Balthazar (lead singer and drama queen upside down center stage). Scene is based on the end of the song Passive by A Perfect Circle reskinned as a MD song. It was written about a former member who’s relationship with...well everyone, was tumultuous at best.
Midnight Dynasty is a meta vampire band (vampires loosely pretending to be human playing vampires on stage). Balthazar (Bal) is the lead singer and Professional Center of Attention. In the back, left to right: Katerina (Kat), very classy, one of the original members; Seth on drums, non-verbal autistic and boyfriend of Bal; Stone, complicated vampire from Appalachia; Magnus in the far back, very old and enigmatic; Callum on keyboard, Irish and a bit melancholy; And finally Eiko, newish vampire and a bit of a wild child with a wild ax.
The lighting was a fun experiment. The screen behind the band is showing sort of like an underwater effect, gently moving.
This is a huge reason why I'll never agree with people who say that Cishet Assuming People shouldn't play Queer characters, I know of several actors (and even an author) who realized they were Queer from playing Queer characters! I understand when it's certain stories (Love Simon/Victor) but otherwise I have no problem with it. It can help actors figure themselves out. I'm proud of Ronen, whatever Letter of the Rainbow he is (or if he has no label) I'm so happy for him!
(also can we stop prasing Cishet actors for playing Queer characters? Y'all still doing that?)
I also only mean this when it comes to Sexuality, Trans Characters SHOULD ONLY be played by Trans Actors!
Me when someone tells me people aren’t interested in things with LGBTQA+ leads/many LGBTQA+ characters.
"It won’t be relatable to enough people, it’ll just be shoving things down peoples’ throats. It won’t appeal to the public.”
Well hey, maybe that media isn’t for you? It’s for the many, many, MANY LGBTQA+ peope who want more representation.
And yes, canonically queer character to convey my feelings.

This is a repost of a story I posted previously in a different format.
“If you treat creatures kindly they will return the favor.” He watched as his teacher reached out to the dragon. His breath rushed out when the creature’s aggressive scales gently tapped her palm. “No one really wishes to be cruel.”

There was a dragon in the hills on the outskirts of Kingsbury, and Jarrod was going to kill it.
Not that he was a knight. Oh, no. Jarrod was a Spellcaster and apprenticed to Kingsbury’s resident Spellcaster. His teacher, Leona, said that he had promise and might even be as powerful as her one day. That was high praise from the best Spellcaster in the three kingdoms.
Of course, his teacher also said that power was useless without skill, and that he had a long way to go in that area.
Jarrod first heard of the dragon when a group of townspeople came to visit Leona after dinner one night. Leona sent him to the kitchen to wash dishes so that they could speak to her privately, but Jarrod left the kitchen door open so he could listen. According to what Jarrod heard, the dragon took residence in the hills sometime in the last fortnight. Since then, the surrounding villages lived in terror whenever the dragon flew overhead to hunt. The dragon was huge and red, they said, and local farmers and ranchers had found mangled livestock in their fields in the mornings.
Delegations were sent to the King to request aid, but so far had proved fruitless. He was preoccupied with the war with Clendyne to the south and wasn’t concerned with a dragon terrorizing small farming communities.
Please, the townspeople begged. Spellcaster Leona, please slay the dragon for us.
But she refused.

WIP Blind Date Event (check it out, it’s awesome!)
Title of your WIP: The Gift of Ashes
Genre: Queer Fantasy, with a dash of Romance and History
Trigger Warnings: None
Stage of writing process: First Draft, almost finished
Synopsis: It is said Sun and Moon have loved each other since the beginning of time - kept apart only by their duty to the world they are bound to watch over. But when Moon is betrayed by the very people who sought her help, everything changes… This is the story of what befalls them after they become mortals. Scio remembers nothing of her past as Moon, and Sun is living in isolation, slowly falling apart for dereliction of duty. Chance has brought them back together, but what once started as a quest to revive Sun’s love for the world soon becomes a race against time: to tear down the cornerstones of a ruling class that uses the Deities’ name to feed fear and obedience into the people’s minds, the two fallen Goddesses will find themselves trapped in the workings of a building revolution. Scio and Sunon will once again be faced with a choice - how much are they willing to sacrifice for the mortals they serve and whose hardships they now share?
Character information: I humbly offer character art instead!

WIP tag: the gift of ashes
Other WIP Information: The story is set in a world where the Deities are shaped by the mortals’ collective imagination: they are what the mortals believe them to be, and must change as tradition evolves, for better and for worse. Moon’s curiosity, her desire to question, to explore, to push the boundaries of her duty in order to form connections is the thing that causes her to fall, but it will also be her ultimate salvation.
Constructive criticism: No, it’s too early for that
