The Ocean Cleanup recently announced that a boat has been able to retrieve plastic – including tires, microplastics, ghost nets, and crates – collected by the device. Life Below Water

Over three billion people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity for their livelihoods. However, today we are seeing 30 percent of the world’s fish stocks overexploited, reaching below the level at which they can produce sustainable yields. Many people can’t still discipline themselves. They can’t throw their trash properly. It is simple to throw your trash in a trash can yet many of us can’t still do this simple thing. A small trash can ruin mother earth, especially plastics. As they say “stop using plastics, save the turtles”. How fascinating that some of the fast food chain like Mc Donald’s has their own policy of what so they called strawless policy. It can help a bit to lessen the use of plastic straws.

People who spends their vacation at the beach should be responsible for their trash. For the people who lives near the bodies of water should atleast maintain the cleanliness of that area since they will benefit and it is for their own good and also for our nature.Especially those who lives near river side. Some of them can’t control themselves to dispose their trash properly. We should be responsible for our surrounding. We should pay attention in our community. It’s our nature who will be the most to get affected of our wrong doings.

The SDGs aim to sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems from pollution, as well as address the impacts of ocean acidification. Enhancing conservation and the sustainable use of ocean-based resources through international law will also help mitigate some of the challenges facing our oceans.Our community is still working on this. The people is the problem here who can’t have their discipline when it comes to trash. We all know plastics is the number cause of this problem. We can use plastic but we should dispose it in a proper way but it is advisable to use eco-friendly things like paper bags and paper straws to help to lessen this problem.

This giant whale sculpture is sending a serious warning about plastic pollution 🐋🚨⁣⁠ The giant whale was part of this year’s Viareggio Carnival in Italy, and it sent a strong message about the need to preserve the world’s oceans in line with Goal 14 of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. ⁠

Malawi is set to become the latest country in Africa to ban plastic bags! The country's original ban, passed in 2015, had previously been overturned following pressure from plastics manufacturers. On Thursday, seven judges ruled that the ban must be upheld after all. It's a win for environmentalists and all those campaigning on the SDGs to protect life on land and life below water. World Turtle Day 2026 🌍🐢

Turtles are among the oldest living creatures on Earth, playing a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine, freshwater, and coastal ecosystems. From oceans and coral reefs to wetlands and rivers, they support biodiversity, ecological stability, and healthy natural habitats. 🌿🌊

As the world continues to face climate change, habitat destruction, plastic pollution, illegal wildlife trade, overfishing, and environmental degradation, many turtle species are now threatened with extinction. Plastic waste in oceans, destruction of nesting beaches, and rising global temperatures continue to create severe challenges for the survival of these ancient species. These pressures continue to endanger their survival and disrupt fragile ecosystem balance.

World Turtle Day is established by American Tortoise Rescue to raise awareness on protecting turtles and tortoises and conserving their habitats for future generations.

Every action matters, whether it is reducing plastic consumption, participating in beach and waterway cleanups, protecting natural habitats, supporting wildlife conservation initiatives, driving carefully during turtle migration seasons, or spreading awareness about environmental sustainability and biodiversity protection. Local conservation efforts collectively create global environmental impact. 🌍✨

This responsibility is deeply aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
