Whumptober 2021: Day 20
No. 20 - LOST & FOUND trunk | trapped underwater | solitary confinement
Characters: Fynta Wolfe & Tanno Vik Fandom: swtor Affiliated Fic(s): Meet Me On The Battlefield
Word Count: 646 Rating: T This was sort of unofficially requested by @dimigex when I couldn’t decide who should rescue Fynta from today’s trauma. Fynta and Vik have always had a peculiar relationship, and I was so excited to delve into this.
As soon as Fynta cleared the surface of the water, she sucked in a croaking breath. Her lungs burned, wrists aching from the shackles that she’d worn for too long, and skin raw from the low current they’d introduced through her watery cage.
Fynta’s feet found purchase as the box slid from the water, and she used that to hurl herself against the plexiglass walls. She knew the signs of panic, knew that her thrashing would only make it worse when they put her under again, but Fynta couldn’t stop herself. Her mind reeled, torn between the training that should keep her calm, and memories of mud seeping into her mouth, her father’s blood still warm on her cheek, and praying that the men wouldn't notice a lone girl hiding in the reeds.
Angling her shoulder at one of the many holes that dotted the walls of her prison, Fynta cried out and hurled herself against it again. Her foot slipped, and her head took the brunt of the impact meant to be absorbed by her torso. Fynta hissed, then blinked away the dark edges of her vision. She was panting, shivering from the temperature of the pool while sweating with a primal need to escape.
Fynta growled against the pain and planted her feet for another strike. She’d knock herself senseless before allowing them to submerge her again. Anything to avoid the past that crept up her legs as the water began to surge in once more.
Distantly, Fynta was aware of frantic motion beyond her tomb. The glass was fogged by her breath, and she couldn’t lift her hands far enough from where they’d been chained at the bottom to wipe it away. Then, the top wrenched open with the screech of metal and hydraulics, and a too-large figure splashed into the cage with her. Fynta struck out with one knee, shouting when it made contact with solid plate instead of pliable flesh.
“Damn, boss,” the gravelly voice complained. “That any way to greet your shining knight?”
“Vik?” Fynta blinked, taking in the tendrils on the back of her companion's head as he knelt below the murky surface. A second later, Fynta’s hands were loose, and she flexed the shoulders she’d strained against for an untold amount of time.
Surfacing, Vik wiped the water from his face. “Fluffy’s been a pain in my ass since you went missing. I was abo—”
Fynta threw herself against the Weequay, burying her face against his armor for just enough time to gather her wits. She needed to leave, to take command and get her soldiers away from this place. Havoc needed to gather the data from the central computer, and maybe plant some charges on the way out. She needed to be strong.
Still, tears of relief fell without her bidding. Fynta squeezed her eyes shut, heaved a shaky breath, and pulled away to tell Vik that he was to never speak of this moment. Instead, darkness enveloped Fynta. It took her a moment to recognize the HUD that connected to her squad. The tight space smelled like Vik. Not the bastard that had been delivered to the Thunderclap in chains, but like the cologne he wore when they had downtime on a planet. It smelled like the man who cheated at cards and took Fynta’s barbs with a laugh.
“Talk to your man,” Vik growled, pressing his face to the visor to be heard while tugging on Fynta's shackles. “I’ll deal with these.”
Their eyes met, and Fynta knew that Vik understood. He’d given her a moment of quiet to compose herself. He’d given her a piece of her dignity back. It was enough to quell the terror that had boiled inside her for too long. Fynta cleared her throat and activated the squad line. “Listen up, Havoc Squad. It’s time to get back to work.”
Gotta love when you’re about to start a new fic and it’s tagged with ‘light torture’

This is my last submission for the @dctvbingo bingo card and was written for the prompt role-reversal.
Len shrunk back into the cage desperate to get away from the pain that was being inflicted on him. However, there was absolutely no place to go. The cage allowed for almost no movement and even if it did he was trapped. The princess smiled up at him, her crimson lips baring just a hint of teeth. He made a pained noise as another sword jabbed into him. He couldn’t believe that this was happening.
It was supposed to be the other way around. He was supposed to do this kidnapping. Not being the victim. However, the people of the desert plains needed him a lot more then he needed them.
“Now, now. You just behave and we won’t have to hurt you. You create the ice and we will feed you. It’s the same agreement that you had back in Central Forest.” Len didn’t bother to argue with her. He had made the agreement with Central of his own free will and it wasn’t just him that was being fed. His whole tatsu was being fed. They had 11 dragons that were being fed in exchange for just Len’s ability to create ice from the moisture in the air.
Of course, those dragons did other things such as protect the town and keep natural disasters from getting out of control. They also were able to keep the town wealthy from their combined hoard. Although Lisa had been very reluctant to part with some of her scales. The town in return had kept them in food and kept dragon hunters away from them. That was until now.
It had been two weeks since their ice dragon Leonard had gone missing and the townspeople were terrified. The other dragons were desperate to have him back but none of them had the capability to track the hunters that had taken him. The whole town was worried that Mick was going to lose it and burn the place down.
King David had called an emergency meeting so that they could try and find Len. The Prince Consort was coordinating the efforts to get all of the advisors and generals into the room. Once they had everyone seated King David stood up and addressed the crowd.
“My advisors and generals. We are at an impasse. Not only has our ice dragon been kidnapped but the other dragons are beginning to lose their minds over it. We all know that Leonard’s mate Mick will not wait for very much longer before losing his temper and burning down the whole area. We need to get someone to save him. And fast.” Lord Joseph West stood up to speak.
“I believe that my adopted son Sir Bartholomew would do well in the role. He is strong and fast and he can track well. He might be our best chance to get Leonard back.” King David thought over it for a moment and then turned to the Prince Consort.
“What do you think Robert? Is Sir Bartholomew up for the job?” Robert gave a firm nod.
“He is a brave and valiant knight. If anyone can rescue Leonard, it would be him.”
Barry liked to think of himself as a pretty laid back kind of guy. He had his moments of hyper-ness, usually around Cisco but most of the time he was low-key. He was forgiving and easy to get along with most of the time. However, he could not abide anyone kidnapping their ice dragon. He was Central’s pride and joy and Barry wasn’t going to stop at anything to get him back.
It hadn’t been really hard to track the hunters that had taken him. There were so few ice dragons in the world that nobody could keep word of one quiet for very long. All he needed was a bit of coin to grease some fingers and they were spilling their guts all over the place. He had followed the whispers to a place deep in the hills of the Red Desert Plains.
Barry was pretty sure that the large cave that loads of men and women kept going in and out of was where Len was being held. He had an easy time finding his way in. Although a massive amount of people would help with an army it was no shield against a single person who could blend easily. With that, all it took was sneaking along some dark halls to a large chamber.
Barry was horrified when he found Len. He was being kept near a hot spring of all things and was in a cage that he almost didn’t fit in. They were using the hot spring as the water source for his ice creation not realizing just how bad it was for Len.
Len thrived on cold. Cold was where he belonged and what he needed to survive. Cold water was the easiest for him to convert into ice. The heat was dangerous for him and left him worn out and sluggish. Although this might have been their intent if they were trying to keep him subdued.
Barry quickly made his way past where several guards were joking around to the cage that held Len. Len opened his ice blue eyes when Barry approached and went to say something when he realized that Barry was from Central. Barry held a finger to his lips and Len obeyed the command to be silent. Barry made his way around the cage to try and figure out how to get Len out.
His walk around brought him to where he could see the latch. Barry frowned at the heavy looking latch and then pulled out his sword. He used his sword to lever open the latch and listened as the large, heavy door creaked open.
“Len, come on. We need to go. I know you are hot but you need to move.” These words were hissed at the ice dragon who stumbled out of the cage and then bent down. Barry recognized the move for what it was and climbed aboard Len. The two of them started making the long way out of the cave.
Barry was able to use his bow to pick off a number of the soldiers and Len stepped on quite a few others. It took a painful amount of time with how slow Len was moving to make it to the exit of the cave. However, once they had stepped out into the cold desert night air, Len seemed to wake up. His eyes opened the rest of the way up and he began to move quicker.
Len took off at a run and Barry knew that he was getting ready to launch into the air. His movements were strong and smooth and he ran faster and faster. Len jumped as if to take flight but something jarred him. Barry looked down to see an arrow sticking out of Len’s left flank. The two of them tumbled to the ground and Barry had the thought that they were going to die there. There was a moment of complete silence.
Then they heard the scream of a Fire Drake enraged at the injury of his mate. Both Barry and Len looked up to see Mick flying around breathing fire on everything that he could see. The firedrake landed next to Len and pressed close to him. He nuzzled Len’s brow ridges lovingly.
“Ya okay, snowflake?” The words were gruff but they still belied the worry behind them. Len gave a sigh and leaned into him.
“Yeah, thanks to pointy stick here.” Len gestured to Barry.
“I am Sir Bartholomew sent by the King himself to rescue our beloved ice dragon. It is my utter honor to deliver him from that torture chamber they had him in.” Len groaned at the words. Mick looked like he was going to fly off the handle.
“Torture chamber! I am going to roast every single one of them. I will eat them alive. I will crush them underneath my feet.” He let out a roar and the people fleeing from the area continued running away in terror. Barry and Len began the long trek home knowing that eventually Mick would run out of people to kill and would join them.
Okay, I wrote it today on Halloween cause I procrastinated so it's probably not the best, or what you wanted, but it's what I wrote so it's what you get. Enjoy.
@knappen-s
What are you waiting for?
"Black Hat, please! Ahh! Please, I'm sorry, I won't do it again I won't-"
"Shut up, Flug. You already ruined over half the mansion with that little stunt. I haven't decided what to do with you yet, and your complaining won't make it any better for you."
Flug shut up right then. He didn't want to make matters any worse for himself.
Black Hat was dragging him by the leg across the mansion, and they had recently gone down a hallway he had never been down before. The fact that they were going down the mansion and towards the basement had him very worried and on edge
Flug began whimpering and shaking violently, and softly clawed at the floor. "Nonononono..." He mumbled to himself, tears welling up in his eyes.
"I thought I told you to be quiet." Black Hat hissed. Flug only whimpered in response.
They had arrived to the basement. It was dark, made of stone, and covered in old looking devices and large cages. It was also very quiet, as if sound wasn't able to reach this room.
"Oh.... no, sir, I- OooOof!!"
He was cut off by being gagged with a cloth.
"Stop talking. And stop squirming too!!" Black Hat yelled.
He tied up and blindfolded Flug, and threw him to the floor.
Footsteps could be heard, leading away from him. It went quiet and still.
Flug thought to himself: "oh... this is it? No... pain? No torture? Just... on the floor with some gags and blindfolds?"
There was some shuffling around, and Flug could hear metal moving.
"Oh no." He thought. "This is it."
But there was... nothing.
His anxiety was through the roof. He was sweating and shaking so hard the whole cage rattled.
"Hm... I could use the rack and tear his joints apart... But then he wouldn't be able to do his work... hmm, nothing to leave permanent damage.... I can't use the choke pear either, that one is always so fun though... or... oh! Oh, yes, I know the perfect tool!" Black Hat's voice dripped with satisfaction, and Flug could practically FEEL his eyes on him.
Flug could hear foot steps getting closer, obviously Black Hat. They got closer and closer, then... stop.
It went silent.
Flug sat there in discomfort. He felt so... open. Vulnerable. Naked. Black Hat had chosen his weapon, but Flug felt... nothing. What was he waiting for?
Seconds felt like hours. Would he just do it already?! Was he even still here?! God, he wished he could scream. What was taking him so long?
Seemingly hours had gone by, and it was dead silent. Nothing moved, nothing happened.
Flug's anxiety had started to calm down now, and he limply lied on the cold, hard floor.
Nothing nothing nothing. It's so boring. Absolutely nothing. Ohhhh nothing.... nothing nothing.
He became bored, so bored. Was he just going to sit here? Was this really it? That's rather... tame. Black Hat isn't tame. There has to be something else. But what?
He grew anxious again. What was he going to do? He was so vulnerable now, what was going to happen? Was he waiting to stab him? Brand him? Kill him???
Oh god, oh... what was going to happen???
His panic rose up into his chest, and his trembling shook the whole cage yet again. This couldn't be it, this couldn't!!! This was Black Hat, he wouldn't just- He said he found something, so, WHAT WAS IT??
His anxiety was eating him alive. What the hell was he waiting on??? Where was he? What was he-
"Flug."
Flug screamed.
"Mm.. mmhhf?" He questioned.
"Have you had enough yet?"
Enough... enough of what??? He hasn't DONE anything!! What the hell did he even do???
"Mmh??????"
He feels touching and the binds are all removed. He was drug across the floor rather aggressively, and it made his ankles sore. He pulled off the gag and blindfold, and the room was exactly as it was before.
"Enough of what??? You didn't even do anything!!! You just left me there to drown in my own thoughts!" Flug was fuming.
"Exactly. Looks like they did a good job torturing you, didn't they?"
Flug stopped.
Oh.
Black Hat let out a laugh, "You! You shook the whole damn cage! You were so terrified! Bahahaha!"
Flug hung his head in shame.
"Go back to what remains of the mansion and clean it up. I expect it decent looking by tomorrow."
"Yes... sir..."
Breathe Again
The slap to the face woke Tony up pretty quickly, which was pretty impressive considering how much he'd been drinking the night before. He blinked slowly, shaking his head a little to clear it.
Ow. Yeah, that was a mistake. Hangover was still a thing. Damn.
Rhodey was going to be pissed.
The second slap connected to his already stinging cheek and sent his head jerking to the side. Tony sighed and poked at the inside of his cheek with his tongue. It didn't taste like he was bleeding, but the flesh felt tender enough. Finally he turned to look up at whoever had decided to kidnap him this week.
He had to bite his tongue to keep from laughing.
“Did you guys actually go shopping at a freaking costume shop?” The man was wearing one of those plastic Halloween animal masks over his face with a black jacket and jeans to complete the look. Glancing around the warehouse room, Tony also saw a few other guys in the same sort of outfit. The main guy had a lion mask, while the others consisted of a bear, elephant, zebra, and a tiger that he could see.
“Anthony Edward Stark,” the man said slowly. “You're probably wondering why you are here.”
Tony rolled his head to try and get the kink out of his neck. No luck. “Not really. Mostly just wondering about the masks still. Seriously, is there a 'Kidnapping for Dummies' book or something? It seems like all you guys get your ideas from the same place. Masks, abandoned warehouse, seriously it got old after the first couple times.”
The lion guy chuckled and Tony raised an eyebrow. “I don't think you realize the gravity of your situation.” He raised a hand, palm facing upwards. One of the guys off to the side, the one with the elephant mask, nodded and turned to lift one of the large garage doors in the warehouse.
Behind it was a little girl.
Tied to a chair and gagged, her eyes were wide with fear. Tony could hear her breathing through her nose in uneven pants. Her dark hair, matted with sweat and grease, hopefully just sweat and grease, fell limp beside her face, framing equally dark eyes.
Lion dude walked around Tony and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Now. Let me explain. We know you won't do anything if it's just you're well being on the line. You're used to this sort of thing.” He chuckled again and placed a hand on his other shoulder and squeezed. “You also know that we're not going to hurt you too badly, because we need you. She on the other hand, is completely expendable.”
The elephant man walked over to stand behind her, placing his own hands on her shoulders. Tony could see his fingers pressing into the cloth of her shirt, slowly turning the pink of his knuckles white. She whimpered slightly.
“Do you understand?” The lion guy's breath ghosted hissed through the slit in the mask and hit Tony's ear, the combination making him shiver slightly.
“Yeah, I get it,” he said, biting his tongue to keep from saying anything more. An out of place remark now would do nothing but annoy them, and he didn't want to give them an excuse to offer a demonstration.
“Good.” Lion guy let go of his shoulders and walked around to face him again. “A little birdie told me that you,” he poked Tony's nose, “are the mastermind behind the new line of personal grenades that the military has recently started using. We want some of those.”
Tony grimaced. Those grenades were... not something he wanted anyone using anywhere near civilians. They were meant to be a last resort sort of thing, emergency use only and not available to common soldiers. They were precise, powerful, and inexpensive to produce. A great combination for Stark Industries and the Army, and really really bad if goons like these got their hands on it.
“I honestly don't know what you're talking about.” Tony shrugged as much as he could. “I've been focused on school.”
“Break one of her fingers.”
The little girl's scream echoed the sharp snap of her finger. Tony's eyes widened in horror as hers overflowed with pain filled tears.
“The hell man! I told you I don't know!” Lion guy snapped again in response to Tony's shout and another scream rang out as another of the girl's fingers were broken.
“I don't like being lied to, Mister Stark.” He patted Tony on the head condescendingly. “I already told you she was expendable. You have eight lies left,” he snapped. “Make that seven.”
The girl was sobbing through her screams now.
Sweat dripped from Tony's temples and he licked his lips. He didn't want to give them anything, but he also didn't want the little girl to be hurt more.
“Stop it! Okay,” Tony said. “I designed the stupid grenades, okay.”
“That wasn't so hard now, was it?” The lion guy squeezed Tony's head before letting go. “This is how it's going to work now. We'll bring you supplies, and you build them while we watch. The girl is going to stay with you the whole time. Do anything we don't like, and well I think you know what's going to happen.”
Tony nodded and he felt one of the guys untie his arms from the chair. He pulled his hands in front of him and rubbed his sore wrists. The bear guy and zebra guy brought a table into the room and set it in front of him.
“Let's not waste time.” With a final squeeze to Tony's skull, lion guy walked away to stand against one of the far walls.
Looking at the contents of the table, Tony frowned. These guys actually did know what they were talking about. Everything here was exactly what he needed to build the grenades. There could be a couple of reasons for that and Tony didn't like any of them. The plans for the grenades were saved his his personal server, so conceivably they could have hacked into it. That option was doubtful, Tony was utterly confident in his programming, especially with the new AI he was developing. Also, there were a few other projects there that were close to completion, each more powerful or versatile than the grenades, and they hadn't mentioned those.
The other option, of course, was a leak at SI. Someone was dealing under the table and sold information to these guys. He'd have to investigate that when he got out of here.
He took a deep breath, and reached out to the materials on the table. Biting back a grin, he got to work.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
He'd built five of them before they noticed anything was amiss. One for each of them. Honestly, it was pretty easy after that.
The first one he tossed at the guy with the elephant mask. He'd relaxed a little, leaning against the wall rather than standing directly behind the girl now. The grenades weren't exactly explosives, and they weren't technically lethal, but the concussive explosion was plenty effective at knocking the man out.
Tony stood and lobbed two more of them, one at the zebra and bear guys standing near each other, and the second and tiger guy who stood up on the walkway above everyone. They collapsed quickly and Tony turned to grab the last two grenades.
“I wouldn't do that if I were you.” Tony turned to look at Lion guy. He stood with the girl, still in her chair, in front of him. His gun pressed against her head. “Set those down and walk over here.”
Tony gently set the grenades on the table and walked slowly over.
“Good.” Tony could hear the grin in lion guy's voice. “Those were not what we asked for. I told you I don't like liars.” He pressed the barrel harder against the girl's head, getting a whine in response.
Tony stood in front of the man and ground his teeth. “You asked me to build grenades, I built grenades. You didn't tell me not to use them.”
“That is true,” the man said. “Lucky for you, that little demonstration was rather impressive. So I'll tell you what, build me more of those on top of the ones I already asked for, and maybe her punishment won't be quite so... permanent.”
Tony bit his lip, almost. So close. “And if I say no?”
“I think you know the answer to that.” He pulled the gun away from the girl and pointed it at Tony.
Tony grinned. “Yeah, I think I do.” In his pocket he hit the remote detonator button he'd rigged for one of the grenades. It exploded behind him, distracting the lion guy enough that he was able to grab the gun and pistol whip the guy across the temple. He fell with a groan, his head bouncing against the ground as he landed. Tony sighed, and stepped behind the girl to untie her.
“You okay?” He asked quietly, untying her arms from the chair. She nodded and as soon as he'd finished untying her she threw her arms around him in a hug.
“Hey. It's alright. Um...” Tony grimaced. “What's your name kiddo?”
“Lilly,” she said quietly, huffing breaths against his shoulder.
He nodded. “Lilly. Okay, pretty name. Um, I'm going to get you out of here, alright. We're gonna call some people to take care of these guys.”
She nodded quietly, and Tony took a deep breath. “Okay, yeah. Sorry kid. It's all over, alright. I know it hurts. Take a deep breath, alright? Just breathe. It's all over.”
