At this point yeah I judge people who buy from Temu and Shein. We know they use slave labour (aka "forced labour"). We know they use toxic materials. We know they steal designs and products, especially from independent creators and artists. We know they don't care about the environment.
But... it's cheap.
And yeah, I know, no ethical consumption under capitalism. But there's a scale. There's a big difference between having to buy food that was made in an unsustainable way because there's no ethical alternative and you have to eat, and buying a cute top or necklace even though it made by slaves and contains lead. You don't need those things, and there are alternatives.
What you're telling me, by buying from there, is that you'll accept and support slavery if it means you can get shiny things for $5. You don't care if it's bad for your health or your kid's health as long as it's cheap.
Why do you think it's cheap? Because they save on materials, safety standards, and labour costs. Of fucking course the cute top that was made by actual slaves using flimsy material is cheaper than the one made by workers who get a fair wage using decent fabric.
I'm in an Etsy sellers' group and every week there's at least one person who's had their designs/product pics/etc stolen and put up on Temu, Shein, or Aliexpress. Sometimes the thieves even file copyright claims against the seller on Etsy, or the algorithm flags it, and the original creator has their product taken down for "infringement".
But... it's cheap. So you don't care about that either.
And yep everyone has the right to do what they want. Go for it. Buy whatever you want, wherever you want. But I'm absolutely judging, because to me, that choice says something about you as a person.
it genuinely confuses me how gender can be a barrier for attraction for some people. Like, I'm not denying that fact obviously, it's completely valid. But my bi blinders make it so hard to comprehend. For me, it's like the rest of the world is going "I only like brunettes" or "I only like blonds". Like... what? Why is there a difference? I don't think I'll ever understand it lol
(and that doesn't make anyone's sexuality any less valid btw. I know people can't control who they're attracted to! It's just weird from the perspective of a guy who is basically gender blind)
The lack of Darkolai fics is criminal. Like. What. Those dudes should kiss (for Ravka)
How I be dressed getting called sir at best buy
Wow the homophobes are popping off huh
I also outlined the ways that the show was in fact profitable on the post? So like. Fuck you?
I desperately want to know why did this guy buy ten bottles of the cheapest one litre vinegar
