There are fragments of worldbuilding that don’t fit neatly into essays or are ready to share, but still demand to be seen.
For this Lineshare Friday, I’m sharing a section from Project N: Replicants, a sub-arc of Jenova Project that I’ve been refining over several months. This excerpt focuses on the biological children created from Bianca Moore’s eggs and Sephiroth’s preserved sperm: a disturbing extension of Shinra’s legacy of control.
What happens when gods are bred in a lab, and their progeny crawl toward the womb that never welcomed them?
Possible Warning Triggers: Body horror, child experimentation, forced reproduction, genetic manipulation, non-consensual experimentation, parental trauma, pregnancy-related trauma
Standout Excerpt
N-03: Wailing Nephilim: writhing masses of malformed limbs and translucent skin, these infant Replicants emit anguished cries that echo across the wilderness. Their spectral wings flicker through undeveloped spines, each beat pulsing with an attempt at flight that always fails. Unlike standard Jenova-spawn, their cries are not a call to conquest. They are a plea. A prayer. A scream for someone who never chose to be their mother.
