LingYi was our staple ship and it felt way too good to get back to it after so long!

Jingyi is trying to remember why he fell in love with a brat.

Lan Jingyi arrives at Lotus Pier and asks Jiang Cheng to teach him how to swim, how to fish, how to know when the lotuses ripen so he can harvest them... and so on for two whole weeks.

Jiang Cheng can't help but smile fondly because, does this little lan really think he won't realize he's doing all this to gain his trust so he can woo Jin Ling? At least this lan eats meat and isn't afraid to stand up to him.

Actually, Lan Jingyi traveled to lotus pier to ask Sandu directly if Jin Ling had a boyfriend, but he saw Jiang Cheng swimming with his disciples, then he noticed the flowers, the fish looked very appetizing,,, when he realized it, almost a month had passed in Yunmeng Jiang and he was helping the sect leader jiang's spiders sharpen their daggers.

Lan Qiren grabbed Lan Jingyi by the neck like a puppy while apologizing to Jiang Cheng (it is not known if he finally got permission from Jiang Cheng, but curiously in Lan Jingyi's sack there are five portions of lotus soup).

jingyi unaware of his lan beauty and unknowingly charms his friends and other juniors alike 😊 he has this firm impression of himself as brash and rather crude, so unlan like, and easily assumes no one would find him attractive due to not fitting the lan stereotype ..

he is ignorant of how his friends' gaze linger a bit longer to his face or momentarily lock in to his lips when he smiles earnestly and laughs so happily. how his friends get a whiplash sometimes when their often cheerful and cheeky jingyi who most of the time— could not repress his rather inelegant expressions down— randomly faces them and blinds them with his bright grins accompanied with starry sparkly eyes.

one time when someone had been courageous enough to confess, with jingyi guiltily turning them down— flustered, he huffed and stuttered in confusion “it's hard to believe that she went to me and not you guys, l–like, i'm not even that attractive ??”

sizhui, jin ling, and zizhen looked at him blankly.

Lingyi but after Lan Jingyi stops calling Jin Ling Young Mistress, he starts calling him Rulan

you know, in the way Wei Wuxian started calling Lan Wangji Lan Zhan as a way to annoy him / get his attention

Jin Ling canonically doesnt like his courtesy name, itd be a shame if someone were to... yk, use it☺️
