currently writing a fic for me and rhe four other mqf fans out there

lingyi fam and although jingyi is usually very energetic around kids, jingyi is very gentle with his eldest daughter 🥺 not that like he's looking down on her because she's a girl or whatever, no, more like parenthood had made him more sappy and very affectionate. soon after they got their second child, he's still pretty much the same. when they grow older, he doesn't care that his eldest daughter and son are grown ups now, he can and will kiss their foreheads, smooch their cheeks, and hug them like they're still little kids, because to him, they still is 😊

lowk i imagine that jin ling will raise his children how his jiujiu had raised him. growing up with no parents, he could only rely on his jiujiu's guidance as reference and inspiration as to how to parent his kids. if we're going to the mpreg route, i can picture jin ling being the most terrified out of the two during jingyi’s pregnancy, questioning himself if he could do it—raising kids properly, if he would do a good job as a father, and additionally, if the pregnancy would go well without repercussions on jingyi’s health. ooh, also, jin ling would 100% cry at the sight of his first child on his arms.

i've been brainrotting about lingyi family, they are occupying my brain! i really like the thought of lingyi’s first child being a girl, and becoming the sect heir despite having a son afterwards. in my head, their daughter is basic jiang yanli if she were (given a gun) healthy and disgustingly good at combat. and then the son is basically a more expressive lan wangji 🥹 who specializes in medicine! jin guniang and jin gongzi breaking gender roles, we love to see it.

social butterfly jingyi who is just capable of making friends EVERYWHERE and most of the time, not even on purpose 🤌 i love charismatic jingyi. jingyi who accidentally befriended junior disciples from other sects .. everytime he gets to visit somewhere for a nighthunt, he always bumps against familiar faces. jin ling and zizhen are always baffled when everytime they are together in a nighthunt, jingyi somehow always gets to see or know atleast one person from that place. sizhui already knows the jingyi effect and is not even surprised anymore.

i heavily support the agenda of jingyi being capable of making anyone like him for simply being him. like, he just DOES it, yknow? imagine a very tempered guy who just dislikes everyone and then he meets jingyi and still thinks he dislikes everyone.. maybe except a little for that one unlan lan boy.

i like the idea that jingyi cries silently when he cries over something that earnestly upset him. based on that post yi city scene, you'd expect that jingyi cries loudly, but if given something to genuinely cry for, i feel like he'd be the silent weeping type 😴

i'm such a sucker for "loud expressive characters who cries silently" tropes .. those characters that just shuts down or allow their tears to fall silently without sobbing or sniffing or creating any noise when 🤌

imagine a scenario where someone close to him unintentionally hit a sour spot in a middle of a heated argument and jingyi freezes, stares at them with wide shaky eyes before shutting down and staring at them blankly with tears falling from his eyes OR jingyi shaking in disbelief before gazing at them with such a quiet pained expression with tearful eyes before abruptly walking away while suppressing his tears 🤔

i love jingyi angst. when am i gonna get my jingyi-whump.
