Ever since Liu Qingge recruited Yang Yixuan as his disciple, he finds himself speechless or even awkward with this child. He's quite young, and it's not like he doesn't have experience with children, after all, he had Mingyan didn't he? He thinks he did right by her, well for the most part anyway. He's just never dealt with a child as angry and aggressive as Yang Yixuan and yes he could easily subdue him and knock him out, but ideally it's not a longterm solution as for the past three days in a row he's had to haul his tiny ass to MQF to make sure he didn't do any severe damage.
As MQF did a check up of an unconcious Yang Yixuan, Liu Qingge just sighed and put his head in hands. This was going to be tougher than he thought, he couldn't even go to SQQ and... he perished the thought right there. Too much to unpack and right now he has to deal with Yang Yixuan.
"May I be so bold as to inquire why this disciple is always presented to me unconscious?" MQF asked.
Qingge lifted his head to look at him, "Mu shixiong, I don't know what else to do with a temper like his. He's always so angry and aggressive. He doesn't listen and there's not enough time to talk sense into him."
MQF pours him some tea as he sits across from him. "Is there anything that's been upsetting him? Have you asked why he feels so angry all the time?"
Qingge just tilts his head slightly, "I don't think so? He seems okay and then it'll just happen at the smallest inconvenience."
MQF hums in response, yang yixuan is not the kind of child to have violent outbursts for nothing. He's surprisingly composed and well mannered for a child his age and even more so considering everything he'd been through following the events of Jin Lan City. It's also true that Liu Qingge hasn't been able to give him the time a disciple requires from their Shizun. Not to fault him of course, he understands that their War God has had his hands full dealing with the aftermath of all the situations SQQ found himself in and even now he's had his hands full with Luo Binghe.
"I imagine it is not easy for you to deal with things as they are right now." he said.
"En." Qingge sighs, "Things are less than ideal right now."
"If I could offer some advice, I think what the child needs right now is some attention and care from you. You are his shizun and he's your sole disciple, he needs someone to see him." MQF says gently. It seems what to do the trick and Qingge looks down into his teacup.
"Perhaps I have been neglectful of him."
Yang Yixuan eventually wakes up and they head off. The next time Yang Yixuan's anger flares up, the subject of his rage is Liu Qingge. All Liu Qingge did was tell him to stay as he went to Huan Hua Palace to retrieve SQQ and Yang Yixuan started screaming and attacking LQG after his persuasions fell on deaf ears.
Here goes nothing, qingge thinks to himself. He put his arms down and stood there and he took everything Yang Yixuan threw at him, without moving a muscle. Did it hurt? Not much until he kept taking hit after hit in the same places, but it was a small price to pay. He watched Yang Yixuan carefully as he slowly exhausted himself, screaming and yelling turning into pointed jabs, until it became ragged breathing and tears and finally, soft muffled sobs. As he started crying, he rested his forehead against Qingge's stomach, both hands clutching the front of his robes.
Qingge knelt down and held him by the shoulders as he patted his head and wiped his tears away with the pad of his thumbs. Yang Yixuan put his forehead on Qingge's shoulder and started crying harder as he felt two arms enveloping him in a hug. His grasp on Qingge's robes tigther now as Qingge slowly massaged the base of his neck and scalp soothingly, patting his head and whispering, "It's okay, let it out, I've got you.", softly.
Liu Qingge always kept a more watchful eye on Yang Yixuan and his emotions from that day on, easily recognizing what each of his minute reactions indicate and more than anything, since that day, Yang Yixuan seemed to have calmed down significantly. It was progress, maybe this wouldn't be so difficult after all.
