Do you have any fancast for LIS even if it’s just for fun/don’t think it’ll happen? My niche one just for fun is Maitreyi Ramakrishnan for Chloe because I think she can do comedy and grief well and could capture Chloe’s abrasive but still caring side
Hey, that's an awesome pick! She was hilarious in Never Have I Ever and Turning Red.
I've never understood why people lose their minds when adaptations cast outside the original character's race (besides racism), because casting directors are never looking for a visual match, but an actor who will embody the character's personality and motivations. Plus, Chloe herself was voiced by two half-Asian actors (Ashly Burch is half Thai, and Rhianna DeVries is half Filipina), so why not?
I'm not a huge fan of the current fancasts on social media, like why are y'all trying to cast a 27 year old to play high school aged Max 💀 Ever Anderson at least is 18. But ideally, I'd really like to see unknown, actual teenage actors in these roles. They could even cast 16-17 year olds to let them age into the roles more slowly if they get a second season. Life is Strange has always had an indie spirit and has always been great at scoping out unknown or rising talent, and I think the show should follow that and give a handful of young actors their big break, especially if they have a limited budget. LiS was one of Ashly's breakout performances for venturing into more dramatic territory. I think keeping the actors young also places them more believably in a high school setting, as well as heightening the danger they face with the storm and dark room. They're still teenagers with explosive adolescent emotions.
Back in like 2020, my fancasts for Sean and Lyla before they aged out of the roles would've been Michael Cimino (Love, Victor) and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever). Like, this Tiktok just radiates Lyla's playful, outgoing energy.
Thanks for asking, this was fun!
