So what? If she came out at a trans man would you express the same rage because they didn't disclose they were born a male? If they said they were born a man but identified as a lesbian would you be as pissed?
You’re missing the point. I give absolutely no shits about the pen name, btw. This is ALL about deliberately pretending to be something he is not, in order to gain access to sexually engage with queer women who would absolutely not give him the time of day if they was aware he was a cis man.
If ‘Sorcha’ came out as trans this wouldn’t have happened. Some people who had sexually engaged with them under the belief they were a cis female lesbian might have been pissed, but there are GOOD AND SOLID REASONS for not coming out as trans. Reasons that involve being afraid for your personal safety, fear of being ‘outed’ in your real life etc.
Those reasons are never in play here. The ONLY things at risk if Sorcha admitted to being a cis man were:
1. Some people would choose not to buy lesbian erotica written by a cis man.
2. He would no longer be able to engage in online sexual activity with wlw who believed Sorcha to be a lesbian.
Number 1 I give no fucking shits. There are plenty of men who won’t read crime fiction if they think it’s written by a woman... see why Nora Roberts writes as J.D. Robb or the TERFy bitch writes as Robert Galbraith. Them’s the breaks. That’s commercial reality. Pen names have been a thing forever.
