Live now with Monster Hunter Stories! This could be the end!
Medical Alert Training (heart rate alert)
Live Alert #2 // I had a 120+ spike while we were playing. She started barking at me again so I stopped and gave her the chance to do a proper alert (which she immediately did)
With more experience she will learn that barking is not an appropriate alert. She gets really excited while playing so I’m glad she caught the scent and decided to act on it.
After I confirmed the spike, we played some more and she got to pick a “chew chew” out of her treat box.
Mandana has done 11 live alerts over the last couple days and we’ve been having a lot of indoor play time. I’m trying my best to meet her physical needs inside. She has outgrown my treadmill and it’s not really safe for us to be outside for long in this weather. Today she got to play in the snow a little after her potty break and she was very grateful.
(I wish we had room for a slat mill 😕)
Live Alert #14 // Of course she would do her first live alert outside right after I mention she hasn’t done one yet!
It’s still very cold (windchill 1°f) but I took her out to the dog run anyways and gave her some free time. On the walk back she stopped and booped my leg to tell me about my 120+ heart rate. I praised her and then we jogged back to the apartment because I had already used all of my treats. She alerted again once inside and I rewarded her very well.
Hubbins had to stay home because of the weather and I’m so glad he did. Not only is he able to help me with Mandana but there were a bunch of very serious wrecks on his route that he could have been involved in.
Mandana loves spending time with Hubbins, but she made it a point to leave him and come to my room to alert (LIVE ALERT #6). I was under a weighted blanket and she actually pulled the blanket off me so she could alert on my leg several times. It wasn’t a very high heart rate because I was laying down but it was a 50 point increase in just a minute. I’m glad she told me because I was thinking about getting up and moving around but now I know to stay in bed for a while and drink some electrolytes instead (she even retrieved a bottle of Gatorade for me which isn’t something I’ve ever asked her to do before) I’m so proud of her! This was only day 9 of medical alert training!!!
