And here is the other super cute commission I got from @laylaylamode, this time featuring my boys, Liam and Kyle~! 💙💚 This and the previous Shadzie one was a perfect way to both give my main characters some love again, and to top off my year with some cute art of my characters~ :3 Laylay is also super nice to talk to and work with, so I highly recommend her if you are looking for cute art~ ^w^
FINALLY THIS IS DONE!!! I think I first made the document for this back in late December of last year but I didn't actually start writing until May of this year, but after 10 months since the last part, the next part of the Fantasy AU is here!!! Here is the previous part.
I wish it did not take me so long to finally finish this, but I finally got it done and for that, I am happy. Since I have been working on this for so long, I understand that it might not be the most coherent or well-written it could be, but I did my best to edit and clean it up as I could while writing. Anyway, for this part, it starts with Liam getting Kyle ready for a council meeting he is to be participating in, though there is a tension in the air as both boys have each other on their mind but don't think they can say what their thoughts are. After the council meeting is over and Liam is nowhere to be found, Kyle makes it a point to find him, and finally tell him what's been on his mind over the past year of them working together.
I hope you enjoy reading!
A day late, but here is my next entry for the “Shadzie + Liyle Month” I am hosting over on the Spooksverse DA group, featuring Liam/Kyle again~ 💙💚
I explain it a little more in the DA description of this story, but the idea for it was originally something that came to me last year, that I didn’t get around to actually writing down till during this past week. I had read a fic at the time last year written by one of my friends, and it inspired me to come up with some ice skating headcanons for the main characters. The last one I listed was always a mini story idea of mine, but I didn’t get around to writing it out till this year. While this story takes place sometime in late January/early February, this IRl time of mid-December(a week before Christmas) is also when Kyle and Liam become official boyfriends! Just thought I would share that fact.
But yeah, with all that said I hope you guys enjoy reading~ ^w^
Looking up from checking his phone, Liam Small saw his friend Suzie Evans leaning against the railing of the ice rink in front of him, her head tilted slightly to the right. Along with Shadow Blackson and Kyle Stewart, the group of friends had decided to go ice skating during one of the few weekends lately where they were all free to hangout together. The idea was mainly Suzie’s idea, as she had wanted to go skating again but the others agreed to the idea. Briefly glancing at the other people skating around the rink, Liam turned his attention back to her.
“Oh, yeah, I just have some things to check up on first. I’ll get on the ice soon, though!” he rubbed the back of his neck, giving an awkward chuckle.
“Okaay, if you say so!” Suzie gave a suspicious squint, before smiling as she returned to her skating.
Turning his phone off, Liam rested his chin into his hand, looking all across the ice rink. Aside from him and his friends, there was a good amount of people there that afternoon, a mix of some of their classmates, middle schoolers, and young children with their parents who were helping them skate for the first time. He had skates on, but truthfully he was hesitant to go out on the ice at all. He had never been good at skating, with the few times he tried before ended with him falling down hard. Since then he had never gone skating again, and would not have this time, had he not wanted to decline the opportunity to hang out with his friends.
If he could get away with it, he would like to just stay in the bleachers, and watch as they skated instead.
He sat there, absentmindedly listening to the music playing in the rink as he zoned out watching the skaters, lost in his thoughts. Although he did not want to risk hurting himself by going out on the ice, he still felt bad that he could completely hangout with his friends that afternoon. He wanted to be able to skate with them, but he also did not want to be a burden by having one of them have to hold onto him and teach him how to skate. Even if he could not enjoy the activity much, he still wanted them to.
Interrupting his thoughts was the glimpse of a guy in a salmon sweater skating towards him, coming out of the rink to sit by him on the bleachers. Tuning back into the world, he saw that it was his boyfriend who was coming towards him, a small smile on his face but his eyes filled with a sort of worry. Sitting beside him, he took a hold of Liam’s hand, giving it soft squeeze.
“Hey, is everything okay? I noticed you haven’t been on the ice since we got here.”
“O-oh, um,” his cheeks grew warm, returning the squeeze to Kyle’s hand. “I’m fine, really. I was just going to sit here first, before I go out there.”
“It’s been close to an hour since we got here, though. Are you sure?”
Liam’s shoulders tensed, as his grip on Kyle’s hand got ever so slightly tighter. “Y-yeah, I’m sure.”
The corner’s of Kyle’s lips twitched ever so slightly downwards, his eyes still set in a concerned but soft expression. He took his other hand to cover their hands that were still holding each other, rubbing them a little in a soothing manner. “Li, come on. I’ve known you for a long time, I know when there is something really bothering you. Please, tell me what’s wrong.”
Seeing the genuine care in his eyes and the warmth from their hands still together, Liam’s shoulders fell as he prepared to answer him. “Well... to tell the truth, I’m kind of scared to go out on the ice,” he gave a bitter chuckle, before continuing, “I just, I’ve never been good at skating, you know, and I really don’t want to fall and get hurt again.”
Kyle was quiet while he waited for him to finish, before carefully offering his reply, a small smile gracing his features. “Is that all?”
Skeptical of the smile on his face, Liam squinted in suspicion. “Yeah, that is all...”
Kyle’s smile grew more. “Well, that’s too bad... I was really hoping I could skate with you.”
Seeing his goofy smile was enough for Liam to forget about his fear for a moment, chuckling softly as a smile of his own formed. “Kyyy... I know what you’re trying to do.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” His smile persisted.
“Yes you do, and you know that I know too. You’re trying to convince me to go out there.”
“Okay okay, you caught me,” he shook his head, before looking at his boy with a slight pleading look in his eyes. “Is it working?”
“Hmm...”
“Pleeease?” he let go of Liam’s hand to clasp his own together. “I’ll be right there to help you! Consider it for me, please~?”
The puppy dog eyes were hard to resist, a full laugh escaping his lips. “Alright, you’ve convinced me... I’ll skate to one song with you.”
Kyle’s act dropped as a wide smile stretched across his face, feeling victorious as he grabbed his boyfriend’s hands and gently helped him to his feet. “Yaay~”
As they made their way down the bleachers and closer to the rink, Liam felt better about coming, but a sense of dread still crawled over him the closer they got. He put on a smile, though, for both Kyle’s sake as well as his own.
They got to the entrance, Kyle stepping away slightly to go through it first, holding his hands out for Liam to grab onto. The shorter boy did, though did not move as he just stared at the ice. His thoughts were interrupted as he felt his hands being softly squeezed, prompting him to look up at Kyle, who only looked at him with the most caring of expressions. “You’ll be okay, Li. If anything happens, I’m right here to catch you. Okay?”
“Okay...” Liam sucked in a breath, hesitantly stepping a skate out onto the ice, albeit slowly. So far nothing happened, and he relaxed a little as he pulled up the courage to get his second skate out there.
Immediately he regretted his decision, as his legs gave way beneath him.
Instinctively he grabbed ahold of Kyle’s forearms to keep himself from completely falling, who leaned forward to help pull him back up. Now standing up again, he kept himself totally still as he continued to hold tightly onto him, though his legs still wobbled a little.
“You good?”
“Y-yeah, I’m good,” Liam weakly smiled, though his legs still shaking were making him silently freak out.
“Hold onto me tightly, I’ll act as your anchor while we’re here. We’ll move slowly, so you can get more used it. You got this, Li.”
The two started moving, Kyle slowly guiding them down the ice, careful to not skate too fast or hard as to not make Liam even more scared of the ice. They kept their grip on each other’s arms, though Liam kept his legs straight at first as he did not want to risk moving them too much and falling. Little by little he started to feel better about giving the ice a try, as even though he never would of by himself, with Kyle’s support and help he felt much better about skating than he ever did before.
After a few songs had past and he had gotten used to the feeling of his skates on the ice, Liam slowly tried to move his skates as he had seen others doing. He did not make any big moves with them as he did not trust himself to not fall, but just enough where he could help himself move better.
He practiced skating like that for a few more minutes, laughing a little as that got more into it.
“I-I think I’m slowly getting the hang of this!”
Kyle gave a big smile as he moved his hand to grab Liam’s. “I think so too! You are doing much better right now! Want to try it once by yourself?”
“Umm, I don’t know if I’m ready for that just yet...”
“Nah, I think you can do it! Besides, I’ll be right next to you to catch you if you fall. You can just try a few feet if you don’t think you can make it far.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
“Okay, here goes...” Liam sucked in a breath, letting go of Kyle’s arms. As soon as he did his knees started wobbling again, but he stuck out his arms to try to keep himself upright and balanced. So far just standing on the ice he was doing better, though the real test of that would be him actually skating. Keeping his breath held, he slowly started moving his skates, keeping his arms out for his own reassurance in his abilities to remain standing.
Little by little he was moving his skates and his fear of injuring himself no longer concerned him.
Off to the other side of the rink he saw Shadow and Suzie both standing there watching him, and while still retaining his balance he managed to send them a feeble wave before focusing back on his skating. As he looked back to Kyle, he could see that he was practically beaming at his accomplishments on the ice that afternoon.
“Li... you’re doing it! You’re really doing it!”
“I-I am! Yeah!”
Skating up to him, Kyle laced their fingers together as he leaned down to rest his forehead against his boyfriend’s. His eyes were closed to savor the moment, but the goofiest and proudest of smiles was on his face as they stood there together. Normally in public they kept their affections tame, but for the moment they forgot all about the other people as they focused on each other.
After a minute of just enjoying each other’s company there, Kyle spoke up. “I’m so proud of you for conquering your fear of the ice, Li.”
A faint blush fell across Liam’s cheeks, but he smiled all-the-same. “Thank you, Ky. It’ll take me time before I’m as good as you and the girls, but I’m glad I finally gave it a chance with your nudging.”
“Hmm,” Kyle softly hummed, before an idea popped into his head as he pulled away from him. Liam was skeptical of this, but he still kept the smile on his face.
“What are you planning now, Ky?”
“Welll...” Kyle drew the word out, a hint of mischief in his tone and expression. “Remember when we were on the bleachers earlier, and you said you would skate to ‘one song’ with me...? I’d like to cash in that couple’s skate now, if that’s okay with you~”
Liam let out a soft chuckle as he playfully shook his head, before turning his attention back to him. “I’d like that too~”
"How do I look?"
*speechless blushing intensifies*
My second entry for the “Shadzie + Liyle Month” I am hosting over on the Spooksverse DA group, featuring the boyfriends this time, Liam/Kyle~
For this entry, I wanted to do something from the Fantasy AU I have for these two, though my original idea changed slightly. Here we have Kyle trying on some more formal attire, as part of his training to take over Liam's place as crowned heir. Being a knight he's not used to dressing all fancy, so he's a little shy/nervous about how he looks. Meanwhile, the prince Liam is a little speechless at the moment seeing him dressed like that, and at his own forbidden feelings for him growing stronger. The more they go along with the training the more their feelings for each other grow and become more complicated, with how they'll deal with them being currently unknown.
I hope you enjoy~ 💙💚
I finally got this done! Originally started this sometime in April but didn’t get to finishing till just recently. But anyway, here is the next part of the Fantasy AU story I was writing for Kyle/Liam. I didn’t mention this on DA but I will be finishing this story, just going to change things up slightly so it’s hopefully easier for me to write and get done faster. The basic plot is not changing, I’m just going to change some elements slightly of how I write, if that makes sense?
