Lev knew he could and should be studying for Transfiguration or History of Magic, but as was oft the case, he’d gotten distracted. For once though, it wasn’t finishing up Eve was Framed or any of the other law books he’d bought in an attempt to nourish his growing interest in the subject; no, thanks to talking with Kally, he was giving Tamora Piece a try. He thought he’d find a book online and peruse lightly, but that was before hours had passed and he was finishing up Book Two in the Song of the Lioness, brain already abuzz with fanfiction ideas. He hadn’t even noticed that there was anyone else still up and about - it had gotten pretty late, after all - until Lily stood up and danced. He had been deep in thought about Alanna and who she should end up with, but it was hard to ignore someone dancing right in front of him. “Sweet moves,” he let out, unable to help himself - he really was too much of a talker sometimes. His amusement turned to concern though when she grabbed at her stomach and his first thought was to get up and grab the bin by hand and bring it back to her. He did so as quickly as he could, but it wasn’t he’d handed it off to her that he realized he could’ve just used magic to do so. “I know it’s a cliche to ask, but are you okay?” he wondered, filling a nearby cup with water - via magic this time - and placing it on the table beside her chair, in case she wanted or needed some.

Lily wasn’t sure what was worse, the roiling in her stomach or the flush of her cheeks from Lev complimenting her dance moves. She didn’t even dance at dances, most of the time choosing to stay at tables in the corner with a good book while her friends had fun instead. Sometimes she let them drag her out, but usually she was more of a puppet that they tugged in whatever direction they chose than a dancer of her own accord. Her uncertainty only lasted a second, though, as she grabbed the bin that Lev had brought her and let her head droop into it, her mouth watering like she might heave any second. She leaned forward, hoping that doubling over would ease the definitely-worse-than-embarrassment pain in her stomach, and it was only after a few very long seconds that she determined she wasn’t going to vomit after all. “Too much candy,” she whined. “Thank Merlin I didn’t throw up, though, that would have been even more mortifying than you seeing me dance. Which, sorry, by the way -- I totally wouldn’t have done that if I’d known you were here, I promise I’m not like, a weirdo who puts on two a.m. shows for the portraits or anything like that. I was just excited to be done with my work,” she told him apologetically, taking a slow sip from the water he’d gotten her. Her stomach still hurt, and she had a feeling sleep wasn’t coming easily to her when she was still hyped up, but the worst seemed to be over. “Thank you, by the way. What are you still doing up?”
