again from the linked nexus au by @zarvasace. even though i probably wouldn’t even have to mention it because i’ve drawn so much linked nexus fanart. whoops. in my defense: i had time.

improvised with the weapon so now it’s basically an elongated guardian sword. it glows. a little.

he also glows. a little.

also i had fun with the highlights. i love highlights. by now they’re more of a fancy pattern but still. i kinda love it???

i actually drew his scars but they’re a little hard to see. sad.

all in all, i’m pretty proud of this, especially because at least half the time we were on the bumpiest highway one could be on. it was hard.

i should stop complaining, i’m pretty happy after all.

This is fanart for Please Handle Your Sheikah Slate With Care by @janazzaa, which I reread every so often and quite enjoy!

My one problem with it was the art provided for Wild’s death in chapter 4, ‘Grace to Hateno’. The art is super well done, especially with the fact the author didn’t NEED to draw it and should be applauded for the extra effort! The problem? The entire time I was reading, I pictured Time and Wild as the painting “Ivan the Terrible and His Son”

The solution? Do it myself!

Summary:

Sometimes the information about a crewmate is never enough, especially not someone so young (or so damaged) as Wild. Link didn't want to be the one on site when he experienced uncontrolled rage-- But there is no one more capable of handling it in the Kingdom than him: another, far more experienced Deity all his own.

Rated G, minor non-graphic violence.

Written to feel out some Deity stuff I'm making @zarvasace tell me so I can keep doing worse things to their characters <3. The AU in question is Linked Nexus, a Linked Universe Sci Fi AU. The details about what Time is are in the linked masterpost as well.

Late, but have some art for Trans Day! These are the characters I have that are explicitly trans in-text. (Others in different AUs may be, but I don't generally make firm decisions about gender or sexuality. I did for all the pathfinder AU though, which is why there are so many there.)

Because I want to, descriptions of each character below the cut. Left to right, top to bottom:

Linked Nexus Time: Time: ftm trans. grew up on a planet that didn't really care about gender expression and just generally landed in an ambiguous he/him space.

Linked Nexus Wild: intersex, doesn't remember his childhood but does prefer a masculine presentation.

Pathfinder Chain Sky: afab intersex! Chose a masculine presentation partly because his culture is woman-led and he didn't feel up to the task of leading like that

Pathfinder Chain Four: amab nonbinary but goes with he/him pronouns partly because he jist doesn't care. Specific colors might be different genders but I didn't get into that.

Pathfinder Chain Twilight: ftm trans, actually a sentient wolf. Figured out shapeshifting into a half-elf partially for trans reasons.

Pathfinder Chain Wild: ftm, not physically transitioned at all

Pathfinder Chain Warriors: ftm trans, joined the military of his country partially to gain access to and earn money for a sex change potion, of which he's taken several as he settles into himself.

Percy Jackson AU Twilight: ftm trans, spent decades in the Hunters of Artemis before leaving peacefully.

Hero's Vessel Doll: genderfluid. Had to replace his pelvis with a porcelain recreation, chose something sexless. Masculine most days, feminine sometimes.

Hero's Vessel Alby: uh. Carved as a male statue, never saw himself as anything other than male, but he did get his clothes carved off at some point and had to pick what was going on, picked female.

Hero's Vessel Oak: ftm, similar to LN Time just in the "didn't grow up with gender, settled into mostly masculine eventually."

Bad End Links Aconite: very intentional ftm, enchanted a series of gems that acted as puberty blockers from a preteen age.

Bad End Links Acon's Zelda: mtf, Aconite gave her the same sort of enchantments a little while after making his own when she decided she wanted them.

It was hard to believe that just a few hours ago, Wild had been happily settled on a pillow in the planet Palu's grand palace. Now he struggled to focus, a friend's limp weight over his shoulders, the musky smell of a specific incense crowding out his every thought. It obscured his vision, rising to several heads above him, swirling around his legs with every step.

Summary:

Wild's been spending a lot of time enjoying peace in the Gerudo Capital with Riju, becoming close enough the young Gerudo Chief almost feels like family. For a Deity, even a half-Deity like Wild, those feelings mean more than most. Unfortunately for him, those feelings are more literal than most... and with it comes unexpected problems.

Rated G, although piece does touch on alien biology & the Gerudo in ways that may hit assimilation/passing-privilege issues for some due to what Deities are in Linked Nexus, so proceed with caution if you're likely to be sensitive to that.

Otherwise, VERY emotionally whumpy pre-Chain fic for LN Wild <3
