Random things i think the lads guys would do with/for their child (・o・)
Part one | Rafayel, Zayne
Part two | Sylus, Caleb, Xavier

RAFAYEL – Cleaning his daughter's bellybutton.
Seraphina was curled up on the couch, her head resting on your lap as you absentmindedly ran your fingers through her soft purple hair. Her pajama top had ridden up just enough to reveal her tiny tummy, rising and falling with each giggle that escaped her lips.
Rafayel sat beside you, legs folded as he leaned over and gently tapped her belly with his fingers, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“Well, little guppy,” he murmured dramatically, voice low and teasing, “you’ve been swimming all day, and now your bellybutton’s all stinky and dirty.”
He gave her belly a playful shake, sending Seraphina into a fit of giggles.
“Nooo! M’clean and i smell nice, Daddy!” she protested between laughter, trying to squirm away, but never really escaping, because she loved the attention too much.
Rafayel chuckled, warm and amused, and gently tickled her sides before reaching for a cotton swab. He started to carefully clean the outer part of her bellybutton, his voice still teasing.
“Let’s see what we have here… stinky seaweed? Or old jellyfish crumbs?”
Seraphina giggled in amusement.
When he was done, he held the cotton swab up dramatically. “Want to smell it?”
She scrunched her nose, then sniffed. “EWWW! Daddy, that stinks!”
Her whole body wiggled from the force of her giggles, and Rafayel leaned down to kiss her forehead, clearly entertained. “Told you, stinky guppy.”
You smiled, watching them with quiet affection, occasionally popping grapes into Seraphina’s and Rafayel’s mouths whenever they opened them like little birds mid play. The living room echoed with laughter and the soft comfort of family—warm, easy, and filled with love in its simplest form.
ZAYNE – the man who knew every single one of your daughter’s preferences by heart.
She didn’t like the crust on her bread? Already removed before she even sat down. Couldn’t sleep unless the sheets were tucked in just right? Already smoothed and folded tight around her. Grapes with skin? Peeled. Apples? Only if they were sliced thin and skinless. Already done by her loving father, of course.
It was a quiet Sunday morning, sunlight lazily pouring in through the windows as the three of you—Zayne, Jasmine, and you. relaxed on the couch, huddled beneath a soft throw blanket. Frozen was playing for the tenth time this month, and Jasmine sat nestled between the both of you, completely absorbed in the movie like it was her first time seeing it.
A charcuterie board sat on the coffee table in front of you, neatly sliced apples, peeled grapes, crackers, a few sweets—all Jasmine approved. The apples were gone quickly, followed by the peeled grapes. Zayne’s arm was resting around your waist as you leaned into him, and everything felt calm, ordinary in the most beautiful way.
Then, a gentle tug on his shirt.
Zayne looked down to find Jasmine gazing up at him, her small fingers still clinging to the fabric of his shirt, her snack-sticky lips slightly parted like she was about to ask—but didn’t need to.
He already knew.
Without a word, Zayne reached for the unpeeled grapes on the board and began peeling them one by one. Each one he finished was handed straight to Jasmine, and she popped them into her mouth happily, never once taking her eyes off the screen.
You glanced at him, warmth blooming in your chest. The way he loved quietly, patiently, in the little things was what made moments like this feel like forever.
I love you even if youre real now/i loved you when you weren't

Great, a timer goes off and you open your eyes in a weird building. Its empty, and quiet. Or as quiet as it gets. Down the hallway you hear some kind of ceremony. As you eavesdrop you recognize the voice, the words, the meanings of said words, and realize where you have woken up. Not a silent hill game, no no no no, youre in love and deepspace game.
Great.
Wonderful.
Why wouldnt you!? In the middle of work week!? Why you, my dear reader, why you indeed.
You look through your pockets, see your phone and get a notification on the hunters watch announcing that youre late to the ceremony. So you quietly enter, walking through the crowd to try and blend in. But when you find an open spot, youre standing next to... her.
MC you've created. Her face is the same you painstakingly made for 30 minites to make as close to yours before using one of the standard ones bc you gave up. Shes... Oh gods shes looking at you!
-Sorry, i think i recognized you but i was wrong. - you stutter awkwardly, before showing your hand for a handshake.-Im y/n by the way. - Tara looks over MCs shoulder and you wave her a friendly gesture as well.- Hi.
MC introduces herself with the same name you gave her and your heart both jumps up in excitement and anxiety. But shes friendly as in the game so thats nice.
After the ceremony numbers start calling, you recognize your parents and stumble over the conversation trying to ccept that youre in a game now. How. Why. Since when. Your parents congratulate and you cant stop feeling like someone else should be hearing this. Or some other version of you, the one who actually worked for that...
Then the last exam came, and you dont know how to feel. Your body moves on instinct, not perfect, but good. You fight a few stray wanderers, you keep scaning your surroundings with paranoia bc this is too high tech for you. But you keep walking. Until you see a clearing with MC leaning forward and Xavier...
-Hm?- your hand holds onto the metal sheet that obscured your view a few seconds ago. Xavier didnt teleport yet, his eyes trained on you.
Xavier? You must be dreaming. Hes not real, nothing is. But for a second you let yourself dream.
-I wont tell anyone. - you say and nod to MC. Might as well befriend her while your dream still going. You turn behind you. - I found Vi! - a nickname for your MC feels too familiar for someone who found out her name two hours ago. Tara comes closer a few minutes later and Xavier already left.
After the exam you use tha map in your phone to find out where you live. Or going to live. Since the UNICORNS live in the center you were relocating. Its when you meet MC again, what a coincidence. Her own words not mine.
-I think you seem familiar too, y/n! - she says curiously as she helps you put your things in your room in their place while youre having a mini heart attack.
-Hah, thats funny. - you squwak at her.
Theres no way LADs is self aware, please god no. Youre not insecure by any means, but please gods no thats too embarrasing! The unflattering angles and outright using the app on the toilet would be a horrible way to introduce urself. Pls dont be self aware.
The first mission is, you guessed it, gets broken by MC meeting Zayne. And said doctor getting squashed between you two, hes not your main but its still felling him breathing in your arms.
Then was Rafayel. Again, not your main so you just ignore his act with MC with falling on top of her.
But on the way home she mentiones she met him before. On further questining she says: "when i was walking to our house, i passed by the beach and met him." And your eyes widen. Okay so canon is still canon, poor girl has no idea whats to come huh.
Then weeks starts going, missions and wanderer threats start filling your schedule, days blurrying together while you argue with Vi to figure out a case about protocores. And then it hits you.
Its not a dream.
By no means its a nightmare.
Thats your life now. Youre not waking up. Or dying.
You just... live in Linkon now.
A city that was fictional a few months ago, is now your life.
At some point you start noticing MC going out on dates, you recognize your neighbor before she does and avoid him at all cost. Xavier is your main, and taken. By MC. Who you love platonically now. (At least u believe its platonic). So you tell yourself: "its only like what? 5-6 people taken. Linkon has plenty of fish in the sea. Ill find someone else." And you believe it for a while.
You slowly start going out more, as exposure therapy for a new town. You try to treat it as moving to Linkon wasnt a matter of blinking and instead a long process you worked for, at least thats how your parents describe it through the calls you get from time to time. People you date vary. Some woman, some men, some nonbinary, some of a gender you cant name but know are good people.
But every time you try to invite them over, Xavier knocks on the door and keeps interrupting your dates.
-MC is on a mission, relax, she'll return soon.- you say, passing the salt he asked for. - I thought you went with her actually.
-I thought you did that too.- he says, glaring iver your shoulder. And you'd love to think thats because of jealousy over you, but you know he loves MC alone(lol), so hes probably just mad you invited someone over while MC isnt aware of that.
Or another fire alarm going off becaue Xavier failed a recipe. Or you stumble on him during a walk in a park and hes asleep under a tree. Or you try to go on a mission with someone who isnt MC and Xavier volunteers, so now you have to switch back to MC. You ignore when lights in the complex start flickering when you invite someone to a coffee near your house. The coffee shop is so great!
Your dates dont last though... constantly something comes up and they need to go. Or you two arent compatible. Or they need to move. Or they dont like your work hours even if you change them to suit theirs. Or something else that stops you from getting a second date. It... hurts... and now you cant even dampen the feeling with playing LADs bc you ARE in it. Just hurts all around honestly.
You have different missions from MC, noticing that she chooses you as her mission partner instead of Xavier.
-Hey, you sure you meant to put my name down?- you ask while chuckling axiously, you already half convinced Xavier hates you for being so close with MC so he keeps ruining your dates.
-Of course! We work great together.- she turns to look at you with slight confusions, before she follows your gaze and boom. Now shes snickering like she knows something you dont. -Wait, did you want to go with someone else? - she jabs you in the ribs and your eyes find Xavier watching you intently. Your hands squeeze the staff you use bc its easiest to wield.
-No. But im pretty sure the star of hunter organization keeps glaring my way constantly.
-Oh hes just awkward, but hes actually a nice guy. Go talk to him. - she nudges you forward, you tell yourself your cheek warmed up from embarrasment. - Im sure youll like him if you get to know him~
-Hey! Im not- i cant! Hes taken, that would be rude. - you look away, frowning. You dont hate MC, quite the opposite, shes a great friend and turns out a great roomate too. You just... dont want to ruin it for them. You saw them return from missions and laughing, or him taking her out on dates. She kept showing you her texts with other guys and like.
Youre proud she can juggle like 3 people so masterfully, but damn you want to call her greedy. Just give Xavier to me youd love to say, but keep quiet.
You dont elaborate. Or explain yourself, requesting to be alone or some random hunter that isnt MC or Xavier. But when you get on a spot you spot the two already investigating. But before you can turn on your heels you are grabbed by the shoulders and pulled in to help. Great, now you're third-wheeling your self insert and your main. Awesome.
And now it keeps happening. And you keep looking back at the things you saw in the game, and it hurts a little bit more because then you could at least pretend hes saying it to you.
And now Xaviers eyes are very clearly on Vi. They look so cute together. If only infold gave more cards where you could see MCs face when shes interacting in the cards and maybe you couldve gotten used to seeing it from third perspective.
So what do you do to cope? The same thing you did in your previous life of course. Shoppng therapy! Buying Lumier merch is the closest you can get to Xavier now in a way that doesnt make it weird.
Every time you see him you squeeze the little plushie of Lumier instead and act like you dont feel hurt. Xavier is a real person now, and Lumier is still fictional - its not weird to have a crush on a fictional person that ISNT dating your friend. And MC has the same collectables so she has pretty good suggestions where you can buy them for cheap!
Win-win for everybody!
MC keeps her boyfriends, you keep your dignity!
Xavier is still getting MC, even if you arent sure if he knows about Zayne or Rafayel.
Look, he better be happy he gets who he wants without feeling like an asshole, okay?
It takes all of your mental fortitude to be calm on these all company eating our events, or wherether they're called, Xavier and MC keep crowding you and you keep asking to leave to the restroom so the two could have a good time together. The drinks arents bad, but you stay sober for your own sake. You dont want to confess anything just because you drank a bit too much.
Okay. Maybe your should've drank more than 1 glass bc hauling two hunters is annoying at least and plain masochistical at worst. The two keep blabbering on and on, and while Xavier is mostly quiet, Vi is screaming in your ear some music lyrics like youre a microphone at the karaoke.
When you finally come home you realize you dont have enough syrength or energy to get Xavier back to his apartments. So now youre thinking if you should haul them in the same room, or leave Xavier on the couch.
You realize you never actually asked if the two are dating. Or if Vi loves someone else. Or anything actually. You believe you didnt ask her anything, thinking it would be too rude to pry.
And now youre wasting perfect opportunity for "theres only one bed" trope bc u thought its too rude to ask. Poor Xavier, n lucky whoever shes dating right now, if she even doing it.
You step away and feel the white haired man grab your wrist.
-Dont leave...- his voice is so pathetic, you almost die from cuteness. But you have to stay strong. The Lumier keychain in your pocket stabs you in the palm as you look down.
-Im not Vi man, you got the wrong guy--
-y/n. - you stare down at bright blue eyes, Xavier is literally as bright as the little table lamp next to him. Your heart is hurting again.
-...Im not them Xavie..er. - the old nickname slips through and you know you already lost.
- Look, my heart is given up to Lumier, i cant betray him or Vi. So go to sleep. - you pull your wrist away.
-Why not me...why him? - the disgust that him is filled with almost makes you laugh, but it never comes out. Your throat is squeezing the air out of you and you have to sigh.
-...Because he is fictional you Xavier. Because hes still fictional. - you see his surprised expression and go back to your room. You'll tell him you didnt say anything. -Go to sleep. You're drunk.
Xavier asks what did you mean by still fictional and you need to keeo straight face while tellinf him you never said that. Because it is a crazy thing to tell someone.
"Oh right, forgot to mention. You were a game character a few months ago and now since youre real i feel horrible for loving you because this girl(vi) was my self insert through these months so i cant make you choose between a no one(me) and her(woman you actually know)! Oh also i know youre Lumier and an alien." - you will be thrown into mental asylum or space. Youre not saying that to anyone.
At this point, Sylus is used to other motorcyclists being intrigued by him and whichever of his bikes he chose to take for a joy ride. The reactions range from admiration to downright aggressive jealousy. It doesn't matter if he's in the N109 Zone, or if he's ventured into Linkon City, he always managed to draw attention.
So he wasn't surprised when an unfamiliar bike pulled up beside him at a light on the outskirts of Linkon. He spared the fellow rider a quick glance, just to gauge what kind of reaction he's getting this time.
A woman, practically dressed, if a bit bland. A leather jacket, gloves, pants, and heavy boots. All black. Her helmet matched, a glossy black with a visor dark enough he couldn't see inside. The biggest pop of color was embroidery along the sleeves of her jacket, though he couldn't fully make out the design with such a quick glance. At most he caught a glimpse of green and white.. Her bike didn't seem to be of note either, some run of the mill model, though it seemed a little big for her.
He could feel her stare at him, but didn't pay her any mind until she revved her engine to get his attention. He turned towards her after sparing a glance at the red light, knowing it was bound to turn soon.
He tilted his head in silent question, not bothering to try and verbalize anything over the sound of both of their engines.
Her engine revved again as she hunkered down against the bike more, all without ever turning her head away from him.
A race, hm?
Giving her bike another once-over, he debated his response. He doubts that it could keep up with him, considering all of the modifications he’s made to his own bike, but... perhaps it'll be entertaining to toy with her some.
So he revved his engine in acceptance.
He watched her sit up in excitement before they both turned their attention to the light.
As soon as the light turned green, they both took off.
Sylus took an easy lead, even while making an active attempt to not lose her right off the bat. He kept her in his mirrors, finding himself a little disappointed. Here he thought she was going to actually pose some semblance of a challenge with how confident she seemed…
Oh well, at least he can enjoy the ride all the same.
However, all it took was that moment of distraction for her to catch up to him. Glancing over to her in surprise, he couldn’t help but gawk as she turned towards him, pretending to blow him a kiss before she focused forward again, easily leaning into the turn ahead of them.
To the untrained eye, she seemed like she was about to wipe out spectacularly, cocky as she sped around the turn. Her leg was just barely avoiding the ground, and even from where he was, he could see her hand shift just slightly on the handlebar, as if wanting to run her hand along the ground to add to her taunting.
But Sylus knows better.
She has such fine control of her bike, easily standing it upright once more once past the turn.
No hesitation, no doubt.
Just complete confidence born from experience.
Looks like this might be more entertaining than he thought.
Smirking to himself, he urged his bike faster, closing the gap between them. It didn’t take long for them to be neck and neck again, the wind sharp as it whipped around them, but neither of them cared. Their only focus was on the road, the roar of their engines, and the hum of their bikes underneath them.
Sylus knows that this path is one of many routes into the N109 Zone, but he figures that their little race will end long before they get there. Either he will lose his opponent when they get too close to his own territory for comfort, or she will wander off once realizing how her bike could never compare to his own. But for the time being, he was content to continue this back and forth, letting her get a small lead before he’d shoot past her, encouraging her to push her own bike to its limits.
At this point, it was less competition and more lighthearted play. A game of tug of war.
As the familiar clouds of the N109 Zone and its skyscrapers began to come into view, Sylus found himself a little… disappointed that their little game would be ending so soon.
He started slowing down as they approached the last turn back to ‘safety’, away from his home. He fully expected for her to turn, their race technically inconclusive even if it was clear who would win if they took it seriously.
So when she blew past him full throttle towards the N109 Zone, he nearly stopped completely in his surprise.
Is she insane?
Or perhaps, a fellow resident trying to avoid drawing attention?
Curiosity piqued, he sped after her, the two of them blowing past every warning to turn back.
Once again he found himself trailing behind her, curious where she would go. She seems confident, further feeding into his theory that she’s at home in this lawless land. Winding through the roads and taking more sharp turns, it took him far too long to realize that they were heading towards his home. Though, he couldn’t find himself too terribly concerned by it, either. As skilled of a rider as she is, she doesn’t pose a threat to him.
Within minutes, she came to a screeching halt in front of the main base of Onychinus, skillfully spinning her bike to face him. He wasted no time doing the same, stopping his bike just a few feet away from hers, facing her head on.
Sylus slowly sat upright on his bike while watching her, not taking his helmet off just yet. He watched as she leaned forward on her bike more, as if recovering from the rush, before she sat up to look towards him. She seemed pleased with herself, based on the playful tilt of her head.
“That was some very impressive driving,” he praised, crossing his arms on the handlebars of his bike as he leaned forward, “especially for such a… simple model.” The woman’s shoulders shook in soundless laughter, and he found himself watching closely as she reached up to remove her helmet.
Sylus lifted his head more in surprise at the familiar face that greeted him, only to find himself ducking his head in amusement. He really should’ve known.
Freeing her blonde hair from being tucked into her jacket, Lily was quick to tie it up with an amused grin. “Why thank you~,” she teased lightheartedly, “I’ve had some wonderful examples to learn from.”
“What are you doing all the way out here, sweetie?” he asked, finally taking his own helmet off so he could settle his chin in his hand while watching her puffed up in pride at having successfully deceived him, as minor as it was.
Humming happily as she mimicked his pose, she batted her eyelashes innocently. “I just wanted to see you sooo badly,” she teased, snickering at the open doubt in his expression. “A co-worker asked me to take his bike for a spin, he said it felt like it wasn’t running right but he couldn’t pin-point what it was. So I figured taking it out of the city would be a good chance to push it and see if I could figure out what was up with it.”
Now that made a lot more sense, earning a slow nod from Sylus as he motioned with his head for her to follow him to take this conversation inside. “That explains why it’s not your bike,” he hummed, quirking a brow. “So, were you able to figure it out?”
Getting off of the bike to walk it into the garage, she followed after him. “No, it seems to be riding smoothly. It’s a little slow, compared to work’s bikes, and especially compared to yours,” she admitted, shooting him a playful look, “but it’s not running poorly or anything. I might give it a more thorough look-over later, though.”
Gesturing to where she could park the bike for now, Sylus parked his own bike and put up his helmet. “You’re welcome to stay here while looking it over, if you’d like,” he offered, crossing his arms as he leaned against one of his workbenches. “After you join me for some brunch.”
Despite it being mid afternoon, Lily couldn’t help but laugh at how natural that sounded, coming from him. “That sounds perfect. Plus I’m curious what you were doing on my side of town, too,” she teased, heading into the base just ahead of him so he could close up the garage behind her.
Seeing her be so comfortable in his domain, unafraid of the dangers that lurked nearby, and smiling at him with such warmth… It satisfied a part of him he’d long forgotten.
