LOG #6

A quick one! While training, a friendly Shinx seemed to stumble upon my little ragtag group! She is a DARLING and is CERTAINLY coming along with me! From what I can tell she adores to be brushed! I named her Beatrice.

Right now everyone’s gearing up to take on the gym, we did venture into the cave a little along the route but the only thing in there was a Paras, who I boxed for the time being. First guy aside from Rudolph on the team, haha, I guess I’m going all girls right now.

The gym should be up soon, I ran into Felix a little while ago, but I’d rather not discuss it too much... Arceus above, does he frustrate me to no end.

Log 6

It’s not okay to always be on the receiving end of comfort and favours. Likewise, it also not okay to be the one constantly giving advice and listening to rants. Especially if th people only talk to you when you have a problem. A good way of knowing who these people are is when you already know something’s wrong the minute you get a notification from them or before they start talking. It’s really not deep but it’s hard to remember. I feel like a complete hypocrite writing this. I had to comfort someone who knows I’m sensitive about their issue and I knew what was wrong the second they texted. The had the decency to put an exclamation mark next to the “hi” so hey always a bright side. But I didn’t have to spend hours on the same conversation that we always have on a person who a) will not take my advice because they’re too blind rn b) would not ever text me unless something bad happens c) I was already struggling with my studies and I have an important exam coming up. So, this is on me. I can’t stop them from reaching out to me, but I sure as fuck can tell myself to step back.

On the bright side, I got free food and plenty of love today. My brother also bought me three boxes of my favourite drink because he couldn’t find the cookies I asked for. I got plenty spoilt today, I’m happy

Log 6: 2nd Immersion

-February 20, 2016-

We once again visited the community, Barangay 709. This time around, we, in the group, were all much more comfortable and confident. We already know how the kids behave and interact and we have all well adjusted to that already. Compared to our first time, we were way better this time. We weren’t shy with each other and the kids were becoming more engaging and active in the activities.

The activity we prepared for the kids was really simple but fun. I know it’s kinda cliche but we really wanted this activity. We asked them to write down/draw on a piece of paper what/who they want to be when they grow up. I’m pretty sure that all of us have been there, done that. We wanted to see how the kids see and want their future to be. Some wanted to be Doctors while some wanted to be Policemen. Some also wanted to be teachers while some wanted to be nurses. All of them shared and presented to us their creations and they explained the reasons. Hearing each of them talk about their dreams was really heartwarming.

Again, it was a tiring day with them, yes they do have this big dreams in them which is really great, but of course they’re still kids, we ended up playing games with them again haha. We didn’t want to appear KJ or killjoy to them so we agreed playing with them. It was nice spending time with the kids of the community. Outdoors is truly the best way to play. It’s still a different feeling than being inside all locked up and stuck with your gadgets. The kids made the kid in me feel alive again. It was really nice to experience playing the old school games like Patintero and Tumbang Preso.
