Summary: You have one of those days where everything that can go wrong has gone wrong in the most annoying way possible. You're mischievous boyfriend, Loki, offers two choices to help you unwind but Steve does not approve of the second choice.
A/N: I had a not super great day Friday so I decided to write this... also, I absolutely LOVE this line from Golden Girls so I decided to use it in my fic. I hope you all like this! 💚
Rubbing your temples in an effort to massage away your headache, you wander into the common area. Steve and Bucky greet you from the couch but you only mumble 'hi' in response, barely looking at them. As much fun as the two super soldiers usual are, there's only one person you want to see right now. You spot Loki sitting by the bookshelves in the corner of the room, a small smile spreads across your lips. The prince looks up from the thick leather book he's reading as soon as he hears your voice.
"Rough day?" Bucky chuckles lightly as you make your way over to Loki.
With a nod you answer in a way that's both vague and still describes your day perfectly, "Everything sucks."
"Aw, come here darling," Loki's book vanishes in a small flash of green light and he holds his hand out for you. You take his hand then move to sit sideways on his lap, resting your head comfortably on his shoulder. One of the his hands moves slowly up and down your back while the other rests on your hip, holding you close. Your body relaxes into his touch, the headache you've had for hours finally beginning to fade as you close your eyes.
After a quiet moment Loki kisses the top of your head lightly and you sigh contently in response. "If you're not too tired," he begins, causing you to lift your head and look up at him. "Maybe we could go out for a bit? It might help you unwind a little."
"Where were you thinking of going?" you ask.
"Well, we can get ice cream or commit a felony," he smirks, knowing your love for his mischievous sense of humor. "You can decide in the car."
You giggle and get up, taking Loki's hand as he stands with you. "I mean how could I possibly choose, both sound fun," you reply jokingly but apparently not everyone in the room realizes that.
"Wait, what?" Steve's attention is immediately pulled away from the movie he's watching with Bucky to your conversation with Loki.
"Nothing," you smile innocently at the super soldier. "Just a little light arson maybe."
"You can't just go around committing felonies because you're bored Y/N," he says in the same stern tone he uses with the inexperienced SHIELD interns.
Bucky laughs and pauses the movie, "Says the guy with what... six felonies?"
Loki grins, putting his arms around your waist from behind as he bends slightly to rest his chin on your shoulder, "Now Sergeant Barnes, that's a story I would very much like to hear."
You smile up at your boyfriend, "Oh you didn't know? Caps a big time criminal."
"I am not," the blonde super soldier insists, clearly aggravated that the conversation has taken such a sudden turn.
"Come on! You lied on a ton of enlistment forms when you trying to get into the army didn't you?" you tilt your head with a knowing smile, your headache a distant memory. "I'm pretty sure that's super illegal isn't it?"
"It is," Bucky confirms and Loki chuckles at how quickly he responded.
"Yeah but that's different. I wasn't-" Steve tries to explain as he stands but Bucky grabs his forearm and pulls him back down to the couch.
"You two have fun," Bucky picks up the remote to turn the movie back on. "I don't have enough cash laying around for bail so just don't get caught."
"I'm offended you would even suggest that," Loki smirks. "I would never get caught."
Bucky raises an eyebrow and looks up at the prince. "So the time you spent in that cell on Asgard and here was voluntary right?"
Loki glares at the super soldier and you kiss his cheek, causing his focus to shift to you. "Let's get ice cream," you decide with a smile and he nods, letting go of your waist to take your hand.
"Ice cream it is," Loki agrees, kissing your hand as you both walk towards the hall the leads to the elevators.
Just before you are out of earshot, you look up at the prince and ask, "Does stealing Bucky's bike count as grand theft auto?"
He grins wide, "It might."
"Don't touch my bike!" Bucky tells from the common room over the sound of Steve's laughter.
