We didn’t thank Primarina enough for ushering in a new era of cunty final water stater evolutions.
A while ago I saw a TikTok on my fyp where someone was talking about how they don't like it when authors change the story or add things after a while and do it by posting on social media or writing a sequel, where suddenly it turns out that things don't work the way they were described how they worked before. And I kinda agree with them. As a writer, I understand that after a while, we see better ways to write a story. This is normal. We gain more experience over time, but once a story has been written and published, we should let it be what it is. Attempting to fix mistakes will often only create plot holes.
But they gave the new extra story in svsss as an example and I don't think it's a good example. They claim they don't consider the new chapter canon because it's either unpublished or because it changes something in the published story (I don't remember exactly and can't find it). And okay, I haven't read it yet, but from what I've heard, it doesn't change anything, quite the opposite it answers and clarifies a few things (and I would be very grateful if someone could tell me if it's true).
But let's get to the point. I want to ask, where is the line between what's canon and what's not in this case? Especially since SVSSS was originally a web series. And that's a completely different process than writing a book for publication. Normal books don't usually have additional stories. And they often come after the main story is written. So, should these additional stories be non-canon? But isn't the entirety of volume 4 simply a collection of extra stories? Are they canon and the new one is not just because it didn't get published?
If it means you're safe.
------
If it meant that he'd make it out of this alive, Tim would do it again. In a heartbeat he would. If it means his little brother makes it to safety then that's all he cares about in the end, and he's trying, he's fighting so hard to keep the attention all on himself in order to give the younger enough of an opening to slip by. But Damian is throwing him a look, akin to one of reluctance that frustrates Tim more than anything because that's so unlike anything Damian. It's so non-Damian that Tim would question whether the kid was actually real or had somehow gotten cloned between here and the cave.
“I can help, Drake! There is no need for you to—” Damian’s protest dies on his tongue as Tim shoots him a look, “Now! Damian!” and Tim hates that he has to yell at him, after everything the last thing he wanted to do was leave off on a bad note, but he also couldn't afford to dance around with reassurances, especially when they might turn him into an even bigger liar than he already was at this point. Just when they'd finally started getting on better, just when they'd finally started acting like they didn't absolutely hate each other… Now this?
Tim’s attention is taken as he has to block a vicious swing aimed at his head, his forearm absorbing the impact before he then counters by pivoting on his foot with a swift strike from his staff. The blow connected, but there was no time to savor it as the group of individuals just kept coming, a relentless tide that pressed him further into a corner, each movement tightening the metaphorical noose around his throat while he swallowed dryly, holding them off as best he could.
Tim's focus only flickers with a cold panic, rising up his spine as he realized he’d lost sight of Damian.
In a desperate sweep of the room at the risk of getting caught off guard and taking on more damage, his eyes finally land on the spikey tufts of hair.
There!
Frozen at the top of the stairs, staring back with wide reluctant eyes stood the youngest Wayne.
Tim's brows knit together, and he wants to frown at the sight of the kid looking so torn because that was not an expression he'd seen the kid use. Ever. It only makes this moment that much more gut wrenching, a feeling he knows that Damian felt too as they locked eyes. For all that the kid was, hesitancy and Damian Wayne were never associated.
Tim smiles—Damian frowns. It's forced obviously, but he needs Damian to leave, to get a head start before they turn their attention to him next. That can't happen, Tim won't let it.
Tim knows if Damian stays any longer he'll witness yet another death, not that the boy was a stranger to the concept. But regardless of how Damian viewed himself or the league training he had, Tim will always see him as a child despite their differences and past conflicts—an innocent kid who got roped into this shit storm without a choice because he wasn't given the chance to have one.
For all that…. Tim knows if he doesn't make Damian leave now, then he'll join the fight and then they'll both go down together.
That is so far off from how he planned to let this play out.
“Just go, I'll catch up with you when I'm done here. You know where Nightwing set his coordinates,” Tim shouts over the loud clanging of weapons, grunting as he blocks several more hits and attempts to slice him in half. He nearly gets his head lobbed off in the process which in turn causes Damian to backpedal at the sight much to Tim's frustration. “Find him! I'll be right behind you.”
Damian holds his breath as he watches Tim slip out of yet another corner, narrowly avoiding being trapped. He's on the verge of protesting again, of insisting there’s a better way, but the look Tim shoots him stops the words in his throat. It sinks in his chest—cold and final—that this might be the last time he ever says anything to him. So he settles for a tight, clipped, “Don’t die. I don’t think Father could handle it.”
Tim doesn’t respond. Neither of them says anything more.
Damian slips out the back entrance. Even as the sounds of combat fade behind him, he refuses to dwell on the fact that Tim didn’t have a copy of the rendezvous plan—just a hastily scrawled grid of coordinates crumpled and shoved into Damian’s smaller hands.
He grits his teeth and forces himself forward.

Another throw away fic I started but never actually finished. Open ended I guess??
About Donnie's "vanity"
Donnie likes to flaunt his intelligence often and I believe it's because he thinks that is what makes him useful and what gives him the right to belong. He might believe that without his exceptional brain he'd be useless and then there would be no longer a place for him not only in the Mad Dogs team but in his family as a whole.
He believes he has every right to feel "superior" because nobody can do things he can do. That means nobody can replace him and he feels he has to reinforce this idea every chance he's got or others would maybe "forget" it and try to replace him regardless.
Predator Badlands thoughts on what it all means. From past to the future and what Dek's journey means for Yautja
So this has been on my mind since I left the movie and I feel like I want to speak about it. Especially after watching Prey and Predator 1 (I also watched AVP, but that was a long while ago) and what I feel like Badlands is partially about.
Because as I watched Predator Badlands and saw Dek with his "Organic" version of Yautja tech made me wonder if this is how Yautja started of. If this use of those creatures from Genna was how early Yautja started of. Where they adapted to their planet and became apex predator through use of creatures on it and that leading up to them creating technology based on said creatures and in time becoming interstellar race of super hunters.
And that thought makes me feel like this movie is partially about Dek reconnecting Yautja with who they were because I notice in both Predator 1 and Prey. Predators do not use their enviorement as much as they probably should. Granted it's probably because of their superiority, but that is part of what I am getting at. Yautja became more... stagnant. They became too comfortable. They settled on staying as they are without much further improvement to their race as a whole. Because they are already strong, they already have great technology.
And that is where Dek comes in. A runt who is seemingly fated to die embarks on seemingly impossible quest, but comes back from it changed as a Yautja who did what possibly their past ancestors did. Adapted, evolved, became truly strong. At the end of the movie Dek is better than his brother and better than his father because he did not remain as they did. Because they already had strength and technology they never had to learn what being weak is.
Dek did. Dek knows what it means to be weak. And because of that he knows what it means to be strong. And through Thia and Bud he also learned through being weak what it means to be a real man unlike his father. He protects those he knows need protecting (something he already did with his brother way in the past) and through that he creates his own clan which could also be how Yautja divided into clans as well. Through certain groups forming around a PROTECTIVE leader who lead them into better future so they all can be stronger.
Dek connected to the past of Yautja and now possibly could be a better future for them. From past to the future there is hope.
But that's my schizo theorizing. I do REALY want a sequel to see how Dek's characters progresses (also I need to see Yautja dommy mommies on screen *cough* *cough*).
I love the feeling when something starts to come together, or I come up with an idea for a plot, and it immediately becomes easier for me to continue writing 🥹😅
I just watched the episode so im still realing from the experience, but oh my god guys it was SO GOOD!!!! Im gonna make art i just need more time, but for now have my unconnected thoughts
⚠️spoilers? Under cut⚠️
