Clip of Ino's appearance in "La Odisea de los Lunnis" 2006 (subtitled in english by me)
It’s a real shame that there’s no mention of the veil, but I don’t mind because Ino appears. It’s already done far more than many other adaptations where it isn’t even mentioned (not to mention that she doesn’t appear in any of the adaptations I’ve seen).
It feels a bit empty, actually, quite empty, but apart from the bit about the veil, I think it’s very good:
it emphasises the resilience, and she’s presented as the daughter of Cadmus, even though in the Odyssey she isn’t introduced as such, she simply tells Odysseus to put on the veil (life jacket), and it’s Homer who tells us this (I loved the dialog format).
I also loved that Poseidon feels this way in the Odyssey. Leucothea’s voice is marvellous.
The mention of seeing a seagull and associating it with land being nearby is one of my obsessions that I told in my old blog, so I really loved hearing that here too.
I loved the reference to the heroes of old (a masterful reference)
A special mention to @ulises-aithon for always listening to my Ino Leucothean ramblings, and also to @venomspecs for sharing this wonderful film, thanks to both of you!!!! I enjoyed this so much🤩
