i went to an interview just to serve a look and the ceo offered me the job on the spot. now i might have to actually show up tomorrow. this is not part of my plot but the plot chose me.

Reached a point in writing where I have to start actually fleshing out the plot and not just be laser-focused on the driving action. Not really sure what to do next but I think that's okay because I didn't really know what to do when I started either. Been trying to get down around 500/700 words per day (with time off for good behavior). I don't want to let not really being sure what's next stop me from getting something down. I can always fix something later, not much I can do with nothing. I'm also starting some side projects with lower stakes so I can stay in practice even if I'm spinning in place with this story.

‘In the Desert of the Day’ has been roundly panned for being a story in which the Inspector effectively has nothing to do, since the sand solves the episode’s conflict.

It was supposed to be a warning about the threats posed by the Sun to the Earth and its inhabitants, but that idea got lost in the plot.
