@lotro-week DAY 2: NPCs Putting 'my' Idhrien into her in-game outfit... What can I say, she's my favourite!
My first death in LOTRO was due to
Baugarch
Other mob(s)
Misadventure (falling etc)
I got the Undying title on my first try (gold star for you!)
@lotro-week Day 3: Monster Play | Festivals | Player Events
Only half-related to festivals, but the Year 1 Scavenger Hunt for the current Anniversary had my first character Finnvi facing an old enemy - Baugarch, the lvl 15 elite warg who absolutely demolished her the first time she ran into him in the Chetwood :D The poll is for anyone who'd like to commiserate; please share your own unfortunate decisions in the tags!
LOTRO Week (May 3 - May 9, 2026)
Hello and welcome to our first LOTRO week! We're still a little under construction (hence caution tape Morannon), but I wanted to get the official announcement out at least.
This is a week-long event to celebrate the Lord of the Rings Online. Post art! Fic! Screenshots! Meta! Playlists! Whatever creative thing you’d like to share. OCs are very welcome. Tag your things #lotro week and tag us here @lotro-week to have them shared. (If it’s been ~24 hours and you haven’t been reblogged or seen a like from me @thalion71, send an ask or DM- there are any number of reasons it might have been missed.) There is also a collection on AO3 for anyone who wants to post their works there.
LOTRO Week is timed to coincide with the last scheduled week of LOTRO’s 19th Anniversary Festival. Our guideline prompts are below. These are optional and meant to give inspiration, not act as hard rules:
May 3 (day 1): PCs | Outfits | Epic Quests May 4 (day 2): NPCs | Favorite Locations | Side Quests May 5 (day 3): Monster Play | Festivals | Player Events May 6 (day 4): Roleplay | Relationships | Fellowships & Kinships May 7 (day 5): Origins | Scenery | Housing May 8 (day 6): Factions | Instances, Skirmishes, & Raids | Items & Crafting May 9 (day 7): Free Day
Currently being run by @thalion71 (or @aurore-parle-de-ses-idees for LOTRO posting). If you have any questions or concerns, please send an ask or DM! Elaborations on prompts can be found here. General guidelines here.
@lotro-week Day 1: PCs | Outfits | Epic Quests
Kemendin, aka Tarahen, aka Taelathron, modelling a current selection of the many, many outfits he has had over the last *checks watch* sixteen years. (So excited to get me some of those new additional outfit slots so I needn't keep replacing 'fits!) A High Elf Lore-master of the First Age who is at this point very sad and very tired, yet still manages to enjoy the little things in life (books, tea, ancient ruins, harp music, arguing with his two closest friends).
@lotro-week Day 6 Factions | Instances, Skirmishes, & Raids | Items & Crafting
Prompt so nice I had to do it twice lol. I also decided to take a crack at the [Strawberry Buns] from the Midsummer festival!
So there were a couple different directions I could have gone with this, and I was torn on whether to make milkbread buns or something closer to a biscuit like what's shown in the tooltip. I decided to go with the biscuit version because the icon was making me hungry. Now buttermilk biscuits aren't exactly the kind of thing you usually stuff, but I figured making an indent on the top and filling that with jam would be close enough. Kind of like a thumbprint cookie if a thumbprint cookie was a biscuit.
The thing that really excited me about this recipe is the jam! The item description says that it has "herbs and spices" in it, and basil seemed like the herb that would pair best with strawberries. So I threw together a really simple strawberry basil jam the night before.
(and uh for some reason I forgot to take a picture of the finished jam. I mean it looked like a standard strawberry jam ig) It turned out insanely good! I'm probably going to make it again.
Then I just followed this recipe for the biscuits, but of course I also had to add the spices mentioned in the tooltip. I decided to add cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Allspice for game-accuracy (it's the optional crit item for apprentice tier), and the others because I thought they would taste good.
The desert table at Elessar's wedding feast hates to see me coming 😈
