this makes it sound like hes a sugar daddy or maybe im overthinking and istg hes not but im just. up thinking sm of wade and how he'd practically toss money at dusty. especially since dustys not... well not nearly as rich as well off as wade. dusty's not dirt poor in this, hes got a steady job, but he's still gotta put aside money for groceries etc etc and cant just go spontaneously do pricy stuff. but then it doesnt start like, crazy or anything, but Wade's giving dusty some money for gas whenever he comes over... he's offering money for groceries... he's even sometimes buyiing dusty stuff likes clothes cause "i dont know.... i just figured you'd like it. i can return it?" and this would touch dusty to no means but ohhh to get to dustys heart (if he has a kid) is to do that shit for his kid. im not tryna say money wins you over, but im meaning moreso the actions. dusty sighing that he doesnt have enough money to buy mary a toy or something, and wade comes over and hands it to dusty in secret saying "say y' got it." <-- spoiler dusty doesnt. says wade got it for her. mary wants something from a food truck in town? go ask pa first, but wade'll get it. if he's comfy enough at this point (which he has to be, since dusty doesnt let wade around Marilyn until he's completely comfy with wade) he'll pick her up so she can see the menu. even read it out for her since she's got very minor dyslexia. and of course marys gotta get dusty something too, and wades not complaining. its worth it to see dusty's face soften even more when wade extends that to his daughter. again, im not meaning this in a 'the way to the heart is spending money on them' but for dusty, its just a more intimate thing. dusty in any au ever isnt rich or anything. he's below proper income usually, paycheck to paycheck, and wade's a man where if he loves you he'll take care of you. he needs to help people, its his love language. so he's out here doing whatever for them, and he knows moneys a tight thing for dusty, so he lets him ease up on it by taking alot of the expenses. of course not everything, since dusty likes to maintain his sense of stability and not feeling like hes gotta rely intirely on wade, but still. i dont know... havent had a tillvotsky ramble in a bit..
