Alright, I’m trying to be blogger now...
Here in Fremantle, I feel like there are a lot of tourists. So on weekend, our ice cream is super popular. Today it was so quiet as it was raining. Boss said this year is so weird, last 15 years he never seen raining in the middle of summer. But the town was still beautiful. Rain was rinsing off dusts and calming down the weekend fatigue of hospitality workers in Freo.
These days, I really like to go to Fremantle market. They run only on weekend, Friday~Sunday. They have wide-variety things, such as fresh local cheap veggies, gluten free bread, cafe, burger shop, bags, soaps and so on!
I finally met my favorite snack which I often used to eat in Japan,
...Eh? You don’t know it? I know it’s uncommon in foreign countries. My friend who shared this snack from Finland said she’s never seen it or heard this veg before. This was the first time to find it in Australia. I love Lotus root, but it’s very hard to find this vegetable( I sometimes found it in some Asian shop in Melbourne). I guess because of here’s weather. I can’t explain how delicious it is, just give it a try when you come to Fremantle!
There’s some interesting things in this market, I found ‘mango green tea’ in this tea stall. You can find ‘lemon green tea’ in every super market here, but for me, I had never thought green tea can go well with fruits! ...But in my opinion I prefer green tea without any fruit flavor.
This is breakfast before work on one of the day. ‘Cashew nut cheese salad roll and spinach&zucchini salad( with my clumsy latteart). Which was so amazing, They have a interesting salads and gluten free options, and their kale chips is one of my favorite.
I’m talking about only foods so far, but don’t worry half of the market is filled up with nice boutiques. You even can find henna tatto there. There is a nice select bag shop in front of the socks stand, they collect amazing hand made bags from all around the world, I would buy those for souvenirs.
Compare to Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, here is more like ‘festival’. You can buy daily things such as fresh veggies, but also you can enjoy massages or street performance. If you wanna kill time or find something you never seen, this is very nice place to visit:) Just don’t forget some cash and they run only on weekend!
