CALLING ALL STEVEN UNIVERSE FANS!
It’s time once again to celebrate the premiere of our favorite show with the annual LoveLikeYou event! But this year is especially special -- this year, we can celebrate having seen Steven Universe in it’s entirety!
The show began in 2013 with ‘Gem Glow’, and ended in 2019 with the spectacular finale, ‘Change Your Mind’.
Since we can now view the series in retrospect (excluding the epilogue series SU Future,) this is the perfect time to celebrate all that made the show special to us! How it changed the way we view the world, the way we treat others, and the way we identify with ourselves. Steven Universe was a groundbreaking series that undoubtedly had a positive affect on so many of it’s viewers.
And that’s what’s kept this event running for 4 YEARS now! Thank you so much to everyone who has ever participated!! I’m a big fan of you all!
If you’re new, the goal of LoveLikeYou is to SHARE! We wanna hear your stories about SU, see your creations -- your fanart, cosplay, song covers, crafts -- to celebrate what Steven Universe means to YOU! (Whether you’re a new fan or old!)
So on November 4th, use the hashtag #LoveLikeYou2019 to share your memories and thoughts of SU, and to show the Crewniverse some love for these past 6 emotional, incredible years!
Happy anniversary, Steven Universe!!! #LoveLikeYou2019 💖

Long-ish Post!!
I know I'm late, but this composition shot took a while to do, since I filled up the entire page, and have been stressing about exams.
Still, won't stop me from singing the praises of my favourite cartoon ever.
I wasn't in the best place emotionally in late 2015, and was struggling to keep myself up as an artist, trying to figure out my style.
Then I watched this show, and something just... clicked. The style was something to me that seemed like fun the take inspiration from (easier than the Disney style I was trying to copy.).
But I was also taken aback by how... calm it was. Like yeah, there were fast paced comedic episodes and deep, dark ones, but Steven Universe was just so... gentle and reassuring.
I was in a constant state of anxiety and urgency. Peers, parents and teachers constantly asking questions like, what do I want to be in my life, what subjects am I gonna choose in school, when will I get a boyfriend?
Everything required me to make a choice right then and now, it all moved too fast, and I couldn't handle it. Saying "I don't know." back then, to me, wasn't an option.
But Steven Universe was different, Steven Universe told me, "Hey, it's okay if you don't know what you wanna do now, you've still got time to figure it out."
I found immense comfort in all the characters of the show, mostly in Steven, cause I could relate to him in growing up and becoming your own instead of what others wanted you to be.
I know it's cliché, but if I hadn't had seen this show, I probably wouldn't be here as the person I am today.
Everything I had been in a rush to figure out, my art style/career, my self/body image, my sexuality and even my future, Steven Universe told me to step back, take a breath, and take my time.
Steven in particular helped me realise that even if people don't respect you for who you are, that's okay. I don't need you to respect me, I respect me.
And even though it might seem bad now, the future is bright!
So here's to Steven Universe's 6th anniversary, and to Rebecca Sugar and The Crewniverse! I can't wait to see it to what's to come!
