just rewatched lovers walk and im thinking about fool for love and how insane that flashback in brazil is. because honestly, why did he even return to sunnydale? i mean hellmouth, home sweet home, scene of the crime, trying to find out where it went wrong even though in the flashback she did tell him what went wrong but he blocked it out and shifted the story around to cope with his heartbreak... because maybe this is just how he interpreted it--- it wasnt until fool for love that he looked back at that memory of his breakup and realized what she really meant by her words, or his own. that it was always a thing, what he felt for buffy. maybe it wasnt exact feelings or anything but there was a blob that was full of potential. but again, why sunnydale? did he know angel was back and he wanted to go punish him? but i dont think that's true. i think he went to the mansion to relive that like what he did at the factory and then found him. why did he go back to sunnydale then? maybe there is no explanation because spike has never been much of a thinker, but you know what he does follow? his blood. he feels his way through stuff. something weird inside of him drew him back there and it kept doing that again and again. just thinkin
