Loftus Hall Country Wexford, Ireland

Built at the end of the 19th century it replaced an earlier hall occupied by the Tottenham family. According to local legend, in the late 18th century the daughter of the house, Anne Tottenham, became infatuated with a young visitor from the sea.

After it was discovered that the young visitor had a cloven foot, a sign of demonic presence, he disappeared. Afterwards Anne refused to eat or drink, becoming entranced by the sea, hoping her stranger would return. 

Anne Died in 1775, poltergeist activity has been reported since her death. It is believed that Anne’s ghost and that of her demon lover roam through the mansions empty halls, chasing one another in an endless game of hide and seek.
