Kuroo Tetsurou

Wants to be the cool, calm and collected man who can smooth talk his way into your heart and have you laughing at his well thought out jokes right up until the moment he has the perfect opportunity to ask you out. All so smooth and suave.

Reality though is a harsh mistress to Kuroo. He's a mess. A hot mess. He's all blushes and outbursts when he tries talking to you. Those topics he planned on talking to you about? They come up as garbled words and strung together sentences that reach every octive in his range.

When he can manage to talk to you normally it's only to embarass himself or say something that makes you laugh at him, not with him AT HIM. Definitely the one getting hit in the face with a volleyball the second you walk up to him type embarrassment.

'You okay Kuroo?' 'Mhmm definitely.' 'It's just your face is bright red and your nose is bleeding from where the volleyball hit you.' 'Oh yeah happens all the time.' 'You get hit in the face all the time?'

Definitely not his finest play it cool moments. But it's very endearing. Along with his blurt out words just to start conversations with out because he can't bear the thought of you walking by without talking to you first.

The sweet thing is though he doesn't let the embarassment he feels stop him. He just grins, blushing cheeks and all and keeps running head first through it all because you are worth it.

Oh and when he does get to that confession after all the failed attempts before with that BIG SPEECH he has planned? It's gone now. Head empty no ones home. Only you there in front of him watching as he stands there wide eyed and panicking trying again to string a sentence together.

You have to be the one to work it out. Something along the lines of 'Alright I'll go out with you.' to make it easy on him or if you're uncertain and want to really push him through it. 'Are you asking me out?' to which HE FINALLY manages to get a 'Yes. Please um, me?' which doesn't make sense but you get it. 'Yeah, okay.'

How could you not? He's an adorable mess. A dork in love. This also kind of breaks the spell of not being able to communicate with you and you can finally have more of a normal conversation with him again.

Iwaizumi Hajime

When he's contemplating it he can't look at you. He's staring everywhere but your eyes. A little blushy too. He's a little awkward but can hold a conversation just not eye contact. There was one awkward conversation he dead ass went oh I'm just going to look up yep totally not suspicious.

Once he's decided he's going to do it though, he's going to confess to you, the fierce determination in him returns. He's no longer afraid to look you in the eye. You make a joke about him returning to normal and he's makes some deep line about 'realising what's important' to him. lol.

He won't rush it but rather wait for the right moment. That or his patience will run out and he'll be afraid someone else will swoop in and take you (he's seen one to many confrontations with Oikawa to let that happen) and pulls you aside one day.

The thing about Iwa is he likes to be prepared for anything. So he did have a mini speech prepared. Nothing concrete just more to do with his feelings--how he feels about you and what you mean to him. It's all loose but something he may or may not have practiced in his bedroom mirror a few times. Along with making sure his hair looked okay. Nice and spikey.

You know the smooth guy Kuroo wished he was? That's the guy Iwaizumi actually is and he doesn't even try, it just comes naturally. He doesn't say the speech. Its simple and sweet, he just tells you straight. 'I have feelings for you and I hope I'm right in thinking you do to. If so please go out with me.'

The only thing that gives away his nerves are those pink cheeks. He's wearing the most serious expression. He even does a little bow to show you he's serious. Just don't take to long to reply or he might panic a little (or do if you wanna be that person YOU MONSTER) but yeah. hehe.

Agreeing to date him? He's smug affff. Like he pulled you and pulled off a confession without fumbling. Nothing can bring him down. Mans is walking on air.

Bokuto Koutarou

The way he feels about you makes him feel so warm and full that he just can't wait to tell you. He's practically bursting at the seems holding in his feelings. The whole world knows about his crush without him having to even say it out loud. Aside from maybe some self doubt you probably sense it too.

The thing is that doesn't mean Bokuto is going to tell you the second he realises. He kind of wants to sit on the warmth that comes with having a crush for a hot minute. It's nice? Just hanging out without the pressure. He's a bit affraid of the pressure.

Also he's not enitrely sure you like him back, ya'know?

That doesn't last long though because before he knows it the two of you are hanging out together laughing about something when he just blurts out that he likes you. It's not planned, there's not speech, no fumbling but he's entirely serious.

There's the sofest smile on his face when you ask him to repeat what he said because honestly it's like you dreamed it. Surely he didn't just say he liked you? Not with that sweet smile and certain look in his eyes.

But he did! and he says it again. This time a little quiter but with more emphasis like he NEEDS you to understand. With an added question about dating. He holds your gaze and waits for your response. It's like the bubble around you two will break if it's not quick and if it's not yes.

Of course it is though and Bokuto's smile widens again like that brief moment of vulnerability never existed between the two of you. He's as happy as when he's been pulled from one of his emo mode moments. Maybe happier. He'd landed something better than a killer cross shot.

Sakura Haruno

Definitely someone who needs to be convinced to relax sometimes as she has a tendency to overwork herself but also bring her work home. She honestly just doesn't stop! You need to pull her into the zen environment for both your sakes.

That being said she definitely is someone who finds comfort in the simple things with you. A nice cup of tea and a cuddle after a long day are exactly what she needs to unwind. Also can she bitch about people please? She needs to have a good vent. The two of you can vent if you need too as long as you listen to her she'll listen to you 100% you're a team.

It's a bonus if tea has some sort of treats with it. It's partner downtime AND treat time. And if you made them? Her heart MELTS. Even if you just bought them she thinks 'My partner did this for me?' Absolutely touched.

So that was the part you indulged her and she has recharged no it's reversal time. Wants to pay you back and help you unwind. She wants to cook you dinner (doesn't mind cooking it together) but loves to spoil you. Likes company when cooking. The talking continues, helps her to unwind honestly.

Is a taster through the process of cooking and loves to ask for you opinion too. 'Hmm I'm not sure, do you think this needs to be more spicy?' Holds the spoon out to you. Still gets warm over the idea of being domestic like this. Cheeks blushy as you taste her cooking. Appreciates your opinion no matter what it is.

Asking for seconds is the way into her heart honestly. The fact you like her food is just ahhhh. Tell her things you like about her food? Will jump you right there and then. Smooches and hugs. All over you. 'I appreciate you so much.' Just being seen makes her feel loved.

Big on bathing with you to unwind. Loves the intimacy of it and just holding and being held by the one she loves. Washing each other and carting her hands through her lovers hair is the dream. Ultimate relaxation until it's not and leads to other things.

Sometimes the path to unwinding with Sakura leads to the ultimated unwind in the bedroom. Towels forgotten on the floor, robes open, hands exploring and kissing so hard that you feel so hot. Maybe the bath should have waited until later.

Shisui Uchiha

Mr active, can't sit still for too long, go go go needs to be coaxed and sometimes bribed into relaxing, honestly. He's just so used always doing something that his mind is like always racing and going so he's following it for the ride. It takes you for a fun ride too.

That being said he does have his exhausted days and mornings where he likes to just cuddle. Cuddley mornings with Shisui aren't all docile and sweet though. Sometimes they're pinches and tickles and giggles.

It's biting your shoulder affectionately and nibbling your ear to get a chuckle out of you and watch you flail about while he holds you tight. It's laughing until your stomach hurts, the blanket long forgotten and kicked to the end of the bed while the sheet twists around each of your limbs.

It's rolling around the bed until one of you (or both if you cling to each other tight enough) falls out of bed. That's when it's time to call it quits. 'Mmm maybe time to get out of bed.' 'I think we just did.' 'Touché.' He kisses (then nips) your nose.

Unwinding in the evening for Shisui I can see being something like watching you prepare dinner. Watching the repetative motions of chopping and mixing just really helps him relax and unwind. But he can't watch for long he has to join in and help.

Not just help out but make it fun too and be an absolute nusance in the process. Flicking the bits of cooked rice that stick to his hands at you when he is put in charge of moulding the rice balls. Attempts to smear the rice vinegar goo on your cheek but you flinch in time with a gasp just as the tip hits your skin.

'Oh this is war!' You declare and he's gone, running around the kitchen in a circle giggling like a child as you chase him with the mayo based sauce. He relents of course and grabs you by the waist. It stops you but not enough as you smear a good goop over his face.

Instead of wiping it off he just smooshes his face against yours and shakes his head gently. The two of you scrunch your noses and laugh. It's a mess but it's fun. And you can taste the sauce on his lips when he kiss you. It's good.

Dinner is almost forgotten as the two of you kiss and kiss. Making out on the kitchen floor. You push him back onto the conveniently placed rug a few feet away and latch yourself onto his neck. He moans, hands coming to pull your waist down against him. Onto him. Mmm this is good.

He laps the remainder of the sauce from your face, his hands exploring up your shirt, fingers splayed over the skin of your back. You push his own shirt up. Kissing down his chest. Down, down further until mm and there's a delicious moan pulled from him as his hands find your hair.

That's when the pot boils over and your remember dinner. Shit. Gotta get up and turn the stove off before you finish.

Neji Hyuga

Mans has spent his whole life chasing that zen but there's always something in the way. There's always something giving him the BIG STRESS lmao. He needs to unwind and you really gotta be the one to help him out before he snaps.

Big on the tea and definitely has his own routine of coming home and drinking a cup just to detox the day. Likes to just have a bit of quiet at first. Has gotten into the habit of making one for you if you're home too, a sweet invitation for you to join him in his bubble. He wants you in his world.

After that he doesn't mind talking. Wants to know about your day, doesn't mind sharing his. Little bits of small talk that lead to the deep intimate talk. Just existing together in a way he never thought he would with another person is intimate for him and it makes him feel so sappy.

Kind of leads him to the physical side of things. Wants the touches and the cuddles. Kind of just falls against you in his PleaseHoldMeSoIKnowThisIsReal Neji way. And you do. It's cuddle time. Sometimes that's all it is. Just cuddles and gentle affirmations.

Other times it's a little more. It leads to kissing. Soft at first. Just gentle reminders that the two of you love each other and aren't going anywhere. But when they deepen. There's a fierceness in them a spark ignites and suddenly he's back against the couch and you're on top of him.

It's almost like your down right ready to devour him. You're kissing his jaw, his neck and he is moaning your name. His hands are in your hair. You both want more. Need more. Crave more.

It leads to more sometimes. Other times it's just a quick burst of passion and nothing more.

Afterwards the two of you continue the night together. A little closer than before. Cooking dinner with extra touches than necessary. Stealing extra kisses between prep steps. Grazing touches as you pass the utensils at the table.

There's no way you can shower alone after that. Everything in an evening like this remains close and together. Right up until the moment the two of you fall asleep in bed, limbs wrapped around each other. Completely content and taken by each others presence.

Iwaizumi: The practical allrounder. Can cook most things in theory and quite well. The food itself doesn't always look pretty but he always adds plenty off flavours and spice. Good enough to add his owns twist on recipes too. Learnt the basics from his parents and then most of his recipes he found and adapted himself. Had to fend for himself cooking wise as a teen and has been cooking since then. LOVES cooking for his s/o and his friends and family. Big smiles, holding his head high with a little blush when you compliment his food or cooking skills. Big on nutritional meals too and researching how to make them healthy and delicious. It's the athletic trainer coming out.

Bokuto: The rising star. A learning curve in his teen years with a few messes and averted disasters but a pretty good cook in adulthood. Taught by his mama and big sisters (one is a bit of disaster the other is very good). Genuinly loves cooking and I think finds he loves it more once he learns a bit about nutritional aspects at college/through V.League. Doesn't always follow recipes but somehow is food always tastes amazing. You can tell he puts love into his cooking. His dishes burst with flavour. Dancing in the kitching while cooking you breakfast in nothing but his briefs? Yep! That's him. He's also the guy in the kitchen with mama and gran at family events helping cook all the meals and getting in on the family gossip. He's also really good at mixing drinks but will make them a really strong ratio that have a great taste (they knock you on your ass too).

Atsumu: The somethings always off menace. He can cook in theory. He and Osamu grew up in the same household after all but there's always something up with his dishes. He puts too much spice in there or not enough. Overcooks it, undercooks it, burns it—never can get the timing right. See Atsumu cooks with with the same love Osamu does but with none of the same care. You can get something edible out of his dishes most of the time though. He just doesn't have the same skill or dedication so it's a bit more basic. Better at doing the quick breakfasts or if he's doing dinner he's doing the curries and egg rice omelets. Less likely to overcook things then because they're a bit easier. He can do onigiri too though just not the fancy tasty ones Osamu does. If you compliment his cooking though he will love you forever! This man lives off words of affirmation and praise lol.

Kageyama: The basics otherwise a disaster. Can definitely cook rice after his sister taught him how to use a rice cooker. He needed to know once he moved out of home. Can fry up vegetables in a pan and make other basic dishes. Although the first time he cooked with oil in a pan he burnt the top of his hand the poor boy. Why did no one warn him not to turn the heat up too high and that hot oil can bubble up like that? (Miwa totally did Tobio sweetie! He was just so hungry at the time he wasn't paying close enough attention). He panicked so much for his poor setter hands he didn't use the pan for days. Called his sister to come to Tokyo. She laughed her ass off at him because he eyed the pan like a skittish cat. Totally a pro now though. Not great at big recipes and dishes. Just basic basic things. Also doesn't like cooking things he has to monitor for long periods of time. Just makes sure all the food groups are there. Meat? Check. Veges? Check. Throw in pan. Add sauce/spice. Done. Eat with rice. lol. Simple. Panics if you ask him to cook for you. Just kind of goes 'I only know how to cook me things.' as in his basic ass bitch meals lmao.

Kunimi: The lazy king of life hacks. Learnt how to make tasty meals in a rice cooker from his dorm room. Hacked his way out of social interactions and walking anywhere once he found out that even if he got food delivered he'd have to walk downstairs to go get it. Big on easy noodle meals like your ramens, rice noodles, potato noodles, etc. Doesn't like too much spice and prefers adding a bit of sugar to his dishes. When he's got access to the facilities (like as a teen at home or an adult out of the dorms) he will make certain kinds of minimal effort desserts once in awhile. When he's craving certain sweets like fudge that you can just chuck somewhere cool to set. Not super big on baking but likes the end reward of it. Doesn't like super involved cooking by himself but is more willing to be part of the process with someone else like a s/o or friends/family. Has to be someone close who can convince him to do it though or he will just watch from the sidelines. Prefers easy but tasty recipes and is very good at perfecting his own. Want something quick and delicious? Kunimi is your man.

Kenma: Can't cook but can kind of bake wildcard. Growing up he never had to do anything like helping out with the cooking. Knows how to boil water and pour it into a noodle cup. Knows how to cook rice in a cooker from Kuroo showing him a volleyball camp. Knows how to grill meat and put things in hot pot from outings. Would overcook things because he's so anxious it wouldn't be cooked enough that he'd leave it too long. Just hates the idea of him cooking anyway because he's worried he'll mess it up and it makes him anxious. Might try if you show him basic things and don't just leave him on his own. Baking though, that is something he did want to be apart of growing up. Used to be that kid sitting in front of the oven waiting for his pies to bake. Liked helping mixing and putting everything together. The smell of things baking really relaxes him.

I'd like your take on how I'd work w/ both Ino and Neji (separate monogamous relationships). I'm bi and my pronouns are she/her and I adore both of the characters but in different ways (thou they are def both part of the Best Hair Club™). I like how confident, determined, fierce and absolutely ✨ gorgeous ✨ Ino is as well as how kind and thoughtful of a friend she is. I like how freakin' SASSY Neji can be as well as I admire his passion, dedication, quiet reserve, and his deep love for his friends and precious people.

When surrounded by people I don't know very well, I tend to be more reserved but when I'm with those I like/trust my absolute goal is to get them to smile and laugh. I see myself as confident and funny but I really do like making people feel good and laugh, especially if they're feeling down. I hate conflict and can't handle arguments, being in them or hearing them. I care about the environment and the importance of inclusivity of people and I get very angry at seeing people be harmed/judged due to their identity and/or appearance. I cry easily at sad/motivational scenes in film/video games lol and don't shy away from showing others my emotions.

Hobbies of mine include hanging w/ friends, I love any kind of shopping, drawing, playing video games, cosplaying, LOVE petting and being around animals, watching nature documentaries as well as documentaries on LGBTQ+ and womens history.

Going places in nice but I'm also 100% up for a date at home. Hand holding?? The best pass time!! I diss out compliments faster than sharp shooters of the wild west and I NEED people to know that I care for them and I won't accept them feeling bad about themselves around my watch lol. I'd rather have a good meal than a lavish gift. A negative about me is I tend to be a horrid procrastinator when it comes to my work (classes) and keep some things to myself instead of talking them over w/ someone to help me if I need it. I have very colorful dialogue, could be considered crude to some but I enjoy using curse words in fun situations AND I will quote memes or vines unironically to get a reaction out of those near me. Laughs and scowls of disapproval are both welcome in my book lol!

I see myself meshing w/ Ino very well and personally I think Neji in a relationship with something more open about their feelings would be a good parallel. Thank you! 💖

Neji

Okay okay the fact you want to make people laugh and care about inclusivity just wins him over already. Seeing all your emotions and big heart really be making his heart skip a beat and falling in love! AND HOLDING HIS HAND HAS THIS MAN WEAK OKAY! DO IT! HOLD IT!

Just sit there and tell him how handsome he is and how beautiful his hair is. He will be a blushing mess but you make him feel so loveD?? Home dates watching you play video games (gets offended when you try to date someone *cough* sebastian in stardew valley). It’s a game Neji lmao. No but really he enjoys watching you play and he is really bad at games but tries. 

Dies the first time you use crude language but he gets used to it. It’s just s ingrained in him not to but then one day he does and you have a “HA WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!” moment. Lavish this man with teasing and compliments all at once and he will explode with emotions. 

Learns meme and vine references because of you. Starts using them too and it makes everyone double take. You just smile and nod like its normal. He will try and scold you for procrastinating and be like “but you told me to yell at you if you don’t do the work but I can’t yell at you so please do the work.” A small pout and he concedes lol. 

I honestly see this man as a disaster bi so the two of you have a mutual understanding in all things hot mess. The best bi couple to every exist: Shawnie and Neji! 

WATCHING NATURE DOCUMENTARIES TOGETHER! Crying when the mama animal dies. Crying while watching sad movies. Neji panics like “What do I do!?” and you’re just like “it’s just so sad!” Just tries to hold you and make it better lmao. Watches the rest of the movie stressfully.

Being bad bitches together! Seriously the two of you will be queens who can rule the world at the drop of the hate. But there’s also delicious hot mess potential lmao. Just complimenting he hair every day and her offering to do yours every day. Best girlfriends. 

Just being drawn to each others way of caring for others? She holds a torch for people like you who are caring about inclusivity, the environment and just genuinely wanting people to be happy? She is one the same wavelength so her sweet heart be pounding.

Okay now when you play stardew with her she’s like “Romance her, oh and her AND ABIGAIL!” And you’re like “I CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE I PICK HAYLEY!” Ino just goes ohhh “is it because shes like me ayyy you have a type!” it’s a fun mess. The two of you co-oping a farm together! 

She puts your drawings and doodles up on the wall, on the bathroom mirror and just everywhere she can see them. Wants you to draw the two of you so she can put it in her work diary. Oh and if you don’t like arguments she will step in for you! 

Watching LGBTQI+ documentaries together. Crying happy tears seeing the sweet couples who have been together for years. Watching sad movies on purpose and crying together. “WHy did we do this to ourselves???” 

A constant back and forth of compliments to each other. To the point they get really niche and obscure. But it makes it more fun. Laughs at your crude remarks. quoting vines together. Reenacting vines and tiktoks together. Just overall wholesome girlfriends tbh.
