4. Total number of words you wrote this year

Okay. So. I am not going to answer this correctly, because I have about a million WIPS and even the stuff I put up on AO3 usually has a doc or two of deleted scenes, and going through my entire drafts folder trying to sort out everything I've written, published and unpublished, would take hours and give me a headache of the worst variety.

I know I've put over 100k up on AO3 this year. My best guess for words actually written? Somewhere in the 150k range.

🧡 Director’s cut for rebound AND I’d love a ⭐️ for any other WIPs

the whole idea of rebound started with the gffa uber ride at the end of chapter 1 - inspiration struck when my wife, a friend, and i were drunkenly fumbling with our seat belts in an uber like "oops i keep touching your butt haha, sorry can you help? haha sorry why is this such a tender moment?" i simply combined that with my insatiable need to go clubbing and started outlining. ultimately i just let myself have fun with it and i think that shows in the final product, even if i got a bit tripped up trying to handle the thinly-veiled internalized homophobia/guilt over padme and satine stuff. in fact i was having so much fun the bj scene was initially going to be road head but i simply could not organically break obi-wan's inhibitions down enough to get there lmao (but maybe y'all will see it from me in the future... 👀)

one random fun fact: the drink obi-wan buys for anakin was supposed to be a japanese whiskey highball with ginger beer and bitters because that's what i was drinking the night of the fateful uber ride. they were quite strong for highballs

i have a million different wips cooking, as most people do, but the one i'm most excited about is a 2-part (10ish chapters each) modern au in which anakin is an ATV mechanic/tour guide in a tiny mountain town and obi-wan is a smooth-talking texan tourist with time and money to burn. it's about half fluff and half slow burn feat. unfortunate miscommunications as always, but the underlying concepts are very near and dear to my heart and tbh it's as much an excuse to process my own feelings about my hometown as it is a fanfic. u know how it is. i've pulled a lot of stuff from my personal writing dating back to 2013 in an attempt to fully capture the setting and flesh out anakin's character arc so i hope it goes over well! i probably won't start publishing til the first part is completely done and i only work on it intermittently, but it's coming down the pipe for sure

22. Is there anything you regret writing?

I always say to myself that even writing I don't end up liking is just getting all the badly written stuff out of my system. Anything that I've really disliked I've just not posted. I had a fic going for a while which is a post Order 66/Anakin's fall thing. Basically a version of Anakin from another timeline gets teleported to the canon timeline and Obi-Wan freaks out and then they eventually fall in love. I have a few thousand words, but ultimately I don't like it because I need for canon Obi-Wan to be happy forever in the Force with Vader after his redemption. And this would rob them of that.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

My beloved it's dangerous to go alone. It's so weird, and so dumb, and it's about the strangest little collection of things (you need to care at least a little bit about baseball, the Oregon Trail, and Obikin). But the trouble is that I care about all those things, and so it is a fic that is written for me. I am my target audience. I just posted it on the off-chance anyone else is also interested.

31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?

I have found the community very sweet and positive as a whole! Everyone who has ever called me funny makes me grin ridiculously for like an hour (at least). Making people laugh is what I am aiming for in virtually every situation, which makes me a fun party guest and quite unpopular at funerals.
