Okay, so Max Landis hinted at the possibility of a Dirk/Assistent romance in the third season, right? 

But the universe is canonically broken, so what if this is a symptom of it - the universe currently has a romantic relationship brewing between Dirk and Lt. Assistent, but the lines of fate are currently shot to hell and crossing about all over the place and what if what the universe actually intended to have happen was a romance develop between Dirk and his assistant, Todd and shit’s just fucked?!
