hello bloodymary people i humbly come to you with the fact that we do NOT use the blackbox in simon’s trauma enough. his last moments were spending wrapping up the blackbox, his last hope for humanity, in the only thing that could have possibly given him a chance at life. his broken, desperate mantra of “this is bigger than me,” being the only thing he can cling to in his final moments. and to end up on the Hail Mary, the blackbox gone? the only thing his entire mission, his entire execution had been worth? he’s going to be devastated.

IM HAVING MORE BLOODYMARY THOUGHTS okay we've all seen scared, volatile simon upon waking up in the hail mary yes? okay great what if he was so deeply traumatized that he was not trusting of anything or anyone to the point he just. won't talk at all. he couldnt trust anyone he talked to back at eden, not in the COI, most certainly not in the sub. the last two times he trusted someone, it was an illusion by the eel (or was it? he doesn't know,) and then ava, with the blackbox (he trusted her, she said he would be free, she said she would come get him in thirty minutes she said-)

it's to the point grace and rocky think he's fully mute, refusing to respond to anything beyond a nod or shake of the head. maybe still too far in shock to process anything, i mean, by all accounts he should be dead, right?

simon doesn't know if he is or not. but he didn't before either, and he had trusted that he wasn't. he's not making that mistake again.

hey. hey. au where the quiet rapture happened within the PMH universe but it really was just space stations vanishing through a wormhole or something similar, just like Simon said. While looking into research before they figured out what the petrova lines were, something happened to the space stations they had out on the field, and it was hidden before anyone could leak the news and let the public freak out. Cut to Grace stumbling upon the SM-13, sealed in flesh-like roots and blood, containing a single person from one of the stations and freaking out.

#also definitely don’t think about simon finding out he was right after everything #That his hope was right for once #that maybe.
