not sure how much fanfic you read anymore(?) but looking for tips to navigate the depths of ao3. I remember you mentioning you find it interesting when people go sincerely into fandoms that are typically thought of as not complex enough to write about. like expanding on characters genuinely. There have been many times I’ve looked up movies or books, however, and been extremely disappointed with the little content available. especially with most Disney movies. often crossovers, high school AUs, unfinished “crack” fics…etc. not my vibe. do you have any advice for finding these extremely niche fandoms when looking on ao3 for something new or do you let inspiration take you—“I wonder if this cartoon I’m watching has any fics?”—which is what I usually do. example: I am one of two authors who wrote On the Waterfront fanfic.
I feel this sooo hard its always a shame when you look something up and there's just...nothing. Which is why I ended up writing so much cars fic tbh. Actually lots of fic Ive written I wouldn't have written if there was A SINGLE sincere fic in the tag!
I don't read much fic these days unless it's from one of my fave authors or is a rec. However, my advice for finding good stuff is to look at the bookmarks and gifts of your fave authors! People whose writing you already enjoy likely have taste similar to yours. You cannot guarantee the fic will be for something you actually like--I have no advice on how to mind the depths for fandom specific content--but whatever it is will be well written. I found an amazing fic based on the song "the devil went down to Georgia" using this method. Never would I have looked UP fic for that song, but I am so glad I did read the story. Sometimes fic is better for a fandom you have never considered or don't care for because you can appreciate the wild outlandish creativity required for someone to actually write about it.
Good luck!! especially with the disney movies. that's such a bleak world (unless you like zootopia).
Okay, so the excuses the car people have told me so far have been: we found something else wrong and need to order new parts, the parts arrived damaged so we needed to order new ones again, we didn't have power for a day, and it's taking longer than expected to put your car back together.
I'm gonna call them tomorrow to get an update, what excuse do you guys think they'll inevitably give me this time?
what's wrong with my car?
it exploded
all the mechanics died
they fell in love with my car and don't want to let it go
it imploded
the truck delivering parts got taken hostage

George loves to bake and Harold loves to taste test anything new he makes
Harold has a huge sweet tooth so he isn't too picky about what George bakes wether it be a basic brownie recipe or something Harold has never heard of
They have the cutest love languages guys (sweet tooth x baker)

Georgia’s fourth Buc-ee’s is officially on the way, with a 2027 opening planned and major infrastructure upgrades approved. Here's more.
A new location in Georgia for a Buc-ee’s in Monroe County has officially been approved, making it the state's fourth location.
The new location, to be built off I-75 on Rumble Road, is expected to open in March 2027. It will be a 74,000-square-foot facility and promising to create 200 full-time jobs in the area.
Here's more about what we know.
New Buc-ee's in Georgia approved
The Monroe County Board of Commissioners approved the project back in December, and now the state has officially given the green light.
According to Atlanta News First, Buc-ee’s will spend an estimated $10 million on road upgrades near the site. That includes new traffic lights, roundabouts, and other improvements to help manage traffic.
Where is Monroe County?
According to the New Georgia Encyclopedia, Monroe County is located in west central Georgia, roughly midway between Atlanta and Macon.
What is Buc-ee's?
The Texas-based convenience store and gas station with its antique shopping store, beef jerky, brisket and expansive bathrooms and gas pumps has become a traveler's destination while on road trips.
Distance between stores, especially throughout Georgia, make them unique stops for travelers, who stop for a rest break and to gather collectables such as the store's trademark beaver shirts, hats, stickers and more.
Buc-ee's locations in Georgia
Buc-ee’s has already opened three locations in Georgia:
Calhoun
Warner Robins
Brunswick (just opened in July)
