it was finally time to face the music -- or something of the dramatic sort, because jules rather pretend the betrothal to lucrezia, princess of italy was a figment of his imagination. he’d been running around the halls of his apartments and other places, occupying himself for days now. but he knew he’d have to discuss the arrangement. he owed that much to his father. so without anything left to hold him back from going, the brunette made his way to the princess’s room, silk ralph lauren shirt barely buttoned fluttering in the wake of his hasty steps. when he’d lift his arm to push his hair out of his face, there was a glimpse of inked skin on the bottom of his torso, his best kept secret. once he made it to the door, he knocked twice, stepping away from the heavy wood as he waited for his -- and his country’s -- future to open up the door for him.

She should have guessed that sooner or later, she’d run into the Italian princess. A sour look grew on her face and she tried to subtly turn away from the brunette. Avoiding her had been easy when she had visited the Blackwoods’ --- Maryam had just spent all her time at her school or with her friends. She might have been able to slip away had it not been for the cleaning lady that accidentally collided with Maryam’s hand. Her hand that was holding her coffee cup. She let out a sigh even before she could feel the liquid running down her arm. Her eyes followed the woman’s back that moved farther away from her before moving to look into Lucrezia’s. “Morning.”

Amelia knocked on Lucrezia’s door with one hand while clutching a bottle of wine in the other. Even though she had wanted to catch up with the other woman for weeks now but work had been so hectic that even her evenings had been busy. Amelia placed the bottle on the ground and quickly sent Lucrezia a text saying that she was outside, then waited patiently for Lucrezia to come to the door.
