What made you first ship them?

For reasons beyond human understanding have I latched onto Octavian, dragged him outta the trash and decided "That one's mine!".

I also really loved playing with the rebel side of things, I think that is sooo underdeveloped in canon, even more so after the Romans were introduced, like, what were there TWO separate rebel fractions? Or did Luke know about Romans? Were the rebels actually Romans and Greeks? That would mean Luke must have had an in with Romans and Octavian always loved power, wanted to rule, what if he worked with the Greek rebels together under the promise that he could lead the Roman side of things one day? Mmmh maybe Luke and Octavian developed feelings for each other, leader of the Greeks, leader of the Romans. What if that's the real reason he hates the Greeks, because the Greek good guys are why their plans for world domination fell through?

That was basically the thought process that led me to this ship :3

lol have you met Tavy? That guy gets constipation just thinking about feelings. Nah, Luke had to do all the emotional work on that one.

14. How did their family take the news of their relationship?

I have long since established that Octavian's family Sucks So Badly, which is a part of the reason he is that way. (I am an Octavian Apologist first and a person second.)

Aside from his grandma, they all took is very, very poorly.

Luke, well, uh. I mean his mom's not... fully there? And other than that, most of his half-siblings chose the other side on this, so, not great I'd say?

helloooo agaiiin!! i remember your notes on getting curious abt luktavian. tbf i've only ever read them as a background pairing in @/takaraphoenix works, but i recently sent her an ask abt them.

anywaaay, the vibe i get when i think of luktavian is the very charismatic, charming luke castellan wooing an emotional constipated, borderline mean octavian for reasons. i like that luke would meet ppl who, for once, do not look up to him or see him as a leader, but quite the opposite (ehem degradation).

also in an au, idk why, but they are so marriage-coded to me, who can also be in an open relationship idek. they can also meet as single dads. or just have those rich families rivalry au, where luke deffo rebels against his dad and octavian tries to prove himself as the rightful heir something.
