Las Vegas here I come 🪄🎩 🐇
Had a fantastic time cosplays Bradley Uppercrust the third at LVLUP EXPO!! Lots of people recognized me and took phros! Even met a couple friendly Max Goofs and got some merchandise!
The way the trailer focused so much on Stolas feels like an apology for how long they blueballed us with this bird, lol.
Also, Octavia with a ponytail?? (I think that's what I saw?) I really need to rewatch the trailer, but I'm still watching a livestream and I haven't seen it uploaded yet.
MY BOY VASSAGO IS BACK AND HE'S SO HAPPY I LOVE IT
The Dummies Guide to LVLUP
So you're tired of living vicariously through everyone's Hellaverse LVLUP posts, and you want to try giving this convention a shot, right?
Cool! I'm going to try making this detailed as possible, especially for folks that aren't familiar with the Vegas scene.
What is LVLUP?
To put it bluntly, LVLUP is like any old regular anime and gaming convention- the only catch is that it is a mecca for Hellaverse fans, especially for those that are fans of Helluva Boss.
It's the place where Spindlehorse usually makes big old announcements pertaining to the show(s), and it's the one place that guarantees a lot of your favorite Hellaverse voice actors and creators to all be conglomerated into one space: Brandon Rogers, Bryce Pinkham, Alex Brightman, Morgana Ignis, Vivienne Medrano, and more.
The SharkRobot booth is also the most beautiful thing ever because people that attend the convention usually get first dibs to stuff that hasn't been released yet.
I want to go to LVLUP, but what should I do first?
I think it's important to decide whether or not you want to go alone, with family, friends, and or other fellow mutuals.
For LVLUP this year, I went with two mutuals I met online, and my sister.
Just so you know LVLUP is a pretty big commitment, so I recommend finding people that YOU KNOW are interested in going to LVLUP just as much as you are.
Hotels and Transportation?
The thing about Las Vegas is that it has this beautiful thing known as the monorail that circles around the entire strip, and has direct access to the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Therefore, I recommend booking a hotel that has terminals directly connected to the monorail, and or are at least walking distance from it.
Hotels I recommend that has direct access to the monorail: Flamingo, The Linq, Westgate, and the Sahara.
Hotels that are walking distance to the monorail that I recommend: The Venetian, The Cosmopolitan, and The Strat (I have a soft spot for The Strat, and while it is walking distance to the monorail- it's also located in a ghetto part of town- but like the hotel rooms are cheap)
Hotels that I don't recommend: Circus Circus and The Luxor
When it comes to booking hotels in Vegas, I think it's important to use your connections. For example, my mutual is a Ceasers Rewards member, so she was able to get us a hotel room at the Flamingo with a beautiful view. As for me, I'm able to get discounted hotel room tickets and discounted flights thanks to my work connections. Likewise, if you have family and or friends that live in Vegas- ask if you can crash at their place.
So if you have connections, USE THEM!
If you don't have connections- I genuinely recommend using these sites to book your hotel like: booking.com, Expedia, etc- and booking around three to four months in advance roughly for the best rates.
The same goes for airplanes, guys. I took a Greyhound to go to Vegas, but I recommend always booking far in advance when it comes to what method of transportation you're using to get to Vegas.
If you're overseas- make sure you have your Passports, 'kay?
Regular vs VIP Members
Decide whether or not you want to go as a Regular pass holder, and or if you want to go VIP.
Regular 3 Day Passes to LVLUP are $85, but do understand that you don't get any special privileges that going VIP gets you.
VIP Passes are roughly $200, but the perks do make it worth it: you get free shit and I like free shit, you get to enter the convention center one hour before everyone else does so that means front row seats to the panels (usually), and a shorter wait time for getting autographs thanks to the VIP line.
Also, if you decide to go Regular- TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BUNDLE!
How much money should I bring?
I recommend carrying cash and card with you. When I went to Vegas I took $750 in cash that I divided into two separate wallets, and I also made sure I had at least $500 on my debit cards I had reserved just for use at Vegas.
Of course, the more money you bring the better, but if you want to go on a budget- I recommend having AT LEAST $300-$500 in cash, and having your credit card in handy just for emergencies.
PS: For the entire trip altogether, I've probably spent around $1500- I live in California so I have no trouble making a trip to Nevada.
Another reason to go to LVLUP:
Going to Helluva Show is literally the most magical experience ever, and genuinely one of the highlights of the entire trip.
It's honestly kinda surreal seeing projected images of your favorite characters inside a big venue space- and musical performances from Sam Haft, Georgie Lehay, Christina Vee, and Eric Schwartz- as well as a comedy show done by Brandon Rogers (the helluva boss, himself) makes for one helluva night to remember.
If you or your friends are considering going to LVLUP, and have any questions- please don't hesitate to message me.
I go to Las Vegas pretty regularly, so I'm quite familiar with the area, and I've been attending regularly LVLUP since last year.
And yes, I do plan on going next year... 🥲
2 days leeeeeeft to Helluva Boss season 3 trailer!!!
(this screenshot is not much connected, but I'm doing a re-watch and I was watching Loo Loo Land yesterday, so it was the last Helluva thing in my gallery)
The shorts are still on and looks like they'll still be on YouTube
Sneak peek of HelluvaBoss Short that's coming out end of June.
And it's a daddy daughter one that looks like they're being asked to kill Mr Rogers.
So, okay, a bunch of background character names just got released. In case any of y'all want to start namedropping characters for your fics:
The guy holding the microphone that Charlie talks to in S1E4 is Myk the Mic Guy.
"And touch my parts!" guy is named Buddy McSluggy.
The Trust Us/Hazbin Guarantee girl is named Salina (pronounced like vagina)
Zach Hadel rabbit is named Zack Rabbit.
Zeezi's friend (voiced by James Monroe Iglehart) officially "goes by" Man Meat. That was the exact phrasing. "He goes by Man Meat". Take that as you will.
And the "Should I kill my wife?" guy is named Boris (after Borat).
Personally, I'm gonna be using Myk and Salina a lot LOL. It's nice to have Angel Dust coworkers that aren't just Rocky and Travis and the (abandoned?) Summer and Dia
