Hey I would like your thoughts on this it something I thought of long ago and I would like your opinion

Do authoritys always give two abilities or nah?[discussion]

Basically I noticed a trend in authoritys basically notice how wrath can share injuries and emotions both can count as an ability on there own then there gluttony who can eat memories and names and has the eclipse's with it both can count as two abilities then there greed who has the ability to put his heart into his wife's and to be invincible even if we don't count the heart part as it own ability him being able to put other stuff then himself outside time(or in time stop I don't know the exact specifics) then there lust who can transform herself and others both count as there own abilitys

finally there sloth who left me wondering sloth can combined his hands so that can technically count as a second ability but it feels like reaching and they are invisible too which can count as there own abilitys but even then it feels like it reaching tooo but I remember reading someone saying that maybe uncompatible people get only one ability and I think it makes sense Subaru isn't really compatible with sloth even though he's a sage candidate (even then his sloth can pass through stuff which can count as it own ability) so sloth is the only exception ever seen and sloth has always been an exception

There seems to always be a trend of authoritys having two abilities

(I won't use the witchs as an example at all die to the fact we don't know much about them or there abilitys so it best there not used for the arguments but I guess if we did pride does first give pain depending on how much you sin and break's you depending on how much you feel guilty)

I would like your opinion on this theory

I personally am of the opinion that this thing seems true given my observations.

The portion on incompatibility w/ a Factor causing an individual to have only 1 ability instead of 2 does also make sense to explain the weirdness of Sloth (and was what I personally thought to explain away the lack of a secondary Authority ability for Petelgeuse) but there is this bit from the WCT Cut Content page.

Now. It is WN material and not present in the LN so keep that in mind, however it is indicative of Tappei having this trend where he’d have also given Petelgeuse a secondary Authority ability even if Tappei later backed out of this choice.

The question then morphs into why Tappei backed out of this choice despite having the other Authorities with 2 abilities & frankly there I have no clue.

Tappei has in Q&A’s indicated weird things with the Sloth Factor. Case in point this one from the Authorites & Magic Related Q&A I did-

-where he makes it appear as if the Sloth Factor isn’t actually behind why Unseen hand is well. Unseen.

Then, these 2 from the Petelgeuse Related Q&A-

-where Tappei is making it clear that yes the Sloth factor does change between people yet Subaru & Petelgeuse have a reason for both of theirs appearing so similar.

So like. Something very weird is clearly going on here with the Sloth Factor and it’s no coincidence there is what appears to be a lack of a secondary Authority ability.
