-The Trouble Shooting (2)-

After living without Mac for about a week, I realized that having the decent device & WiFi connection could be more vital than having a roof over my head. The mobility of iPhone was fresh to start with. Gradually, I started feeling insecure and eventually pretty rough.

I tried not to lose my temper, but it was a nightmare that the leak, coming from the ceiling, decided to position itself, directly above my Mac

I stared at the ceiling a number of times.

It was not that simple to just dash to the Mac Store and buying a new one. My Mac stopped working at the same time as the new Mac OS Catalina had been released. Some of my software was not compatible. Most of all, I wasn’t too keen on the Touch Bar, which is has been built in to the new Mac Pro.

It was real people who rescued me from a full stress melt down. After speaking to a few friends for advice, one of them had a spare device. He kindly upgraded his spare MacBook Pro with OSX Mojave and gave it to me. It’s almost new & works so well!

I doubt a holographic companion could do that.

Our minds are formless.

No matter how technologies are going to move on, materials have definite shapes & volumes cannot justify our emotions. The live communications are still vital. I’d like to use the technology by in touch with my indefinite mind to not being used by trends & technologies.

The realities remain in our sub-consciousness.

Being in touch with our sub-consciousness is key to wellness.  

I would like to stay as a half monkey!

１週間、マック無しの生活を強いられて改めて感じた事。それは、ノートパソコンとWiFiは、家より大事だ。最初のうちは、iPhoneのモビリティに新鮮さを感じていたけれど、 まるでホームレスにでもなってしまったような、心細さを覚え、段々と心が荒んでいった。

腹を立てまいと思いつつ、よりにもよって、この広い天井中の、マックの真上を選んで、雨漏りなんて有り得ないと思いながら、天井を何度も眺めた。

それが、走ってマックストアに行って、新調すれば済む問題でも無かった。何のご縁か知らないが、マック最新のOS Catalina がリリースされたと同時にマックが壊れたのだ。自分のソフトはCatalinaに対応できないものもあった。その上、最新機種のタッチ・バーは、どうしても苦手だった。

ストレス全開の危機を救ってくれたのは、やはり、生身の人だった。マックに詳しい友達に色々対策を相談した結果、仕事上、使っていないデバイスを幾つか持っていた友達が、わざわざ、OSX Mojevaをアップグレードして、一つくれた。新品同様で使い心地がすごく良い。

ホログラムの友達では、ここまでやってくれないと思う。

わたしたちの心には形が無い。

この先、如何にテクノロジーが進んだとしても、完璧な形の有る事柄では、人間の心理を解決することは出来ない。生身の人同士の実際的な交流は大切だ。自分は、この取り留めもない心と付き合いながら、テクノロジーに利用されずに、自分の意思で、それらを利用して行きたい。

現実は、無意識の中に存在する。無意識を自覚する事が、健康への鍵だ。

だから、わたしはずっと半分猿のままでいたい。

I got the python script to work!

YES!

Followed these instructions: https://github.com/bbolli/tumblr-utils/blob/master/tumblr_backup_for_beginners.md

with the following modifications:

--For Mac OSX, you use Terminal -- it should be in Applications/Utilities.

--Changing $PATH is apparently very difficult in Macs, so I put all the scripts from the tumblr_utils download into the directory where Terminal was automatically looking. (Not sure I needed any of them besides tumblr_backup, but that’s what I did, so.)

--That’s probably going to be your user folder? You can type pwd after the prompt to make it tell you where it’s looking.

--Instead of saying tumblr_backup.py blogname, you say... python tumblr_backup.py blogname.

(I could have down this so much sooner if I’d just thought to look up ‘running python from terminal’... ah well.)

EDIT OCTOBER 2020: This isn't working anymore because tumblr no longer allows shared API keys. It's theoretically possible to get one but I'm not sure exactly how.
