INKtober Day 19- DR FORESTER (and TV’s Frank)
The diabolical founder of Gizmonic Institute, Dr Clayton Forester and his poofy-haired cronie: TV’s Frank, are best known for creating one of science’s most insane experiments: THE MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000! Kidnapping and exiling good-guy Gizomonic employee Joel Robinson aboard the Satellite of Love, then subjected him and his robot friends, GPC, Tom Servo and Crow, to a never ending barrage of the worst movies ever made! All the while monitoring their reactions and the effects the movies have on their sanity; BUT who’s sanity would truly break first: Joel and the Bots or The Mad Scientists (the Mads) themselves!?
Mad Doctors
Alrighty!
Anyone who’s known me for any significant amount of time with me knows that I fuckin’ love mad doctors/mad scientists. (I actually wanted to be one growing up) Usually they’re mad doctors who are also scientists.
Seeing as it’s Halloween, I thought I’d talk about three that I love! No particular order.
1st up? Medic (Team Fortress 2)
Don’t mind him. He’s just reviving his dead pet.
Like most (all really) of the TF2 mercs, Medic is not what would be considered mentally sound. That makes sense if you think about it. Medic would have been in his mid-teens in the 1940s in Stuttgart, Germany. And probably procured a great deal of trauma during that time that may have lead to his mental instability...
That’s speculation but c’mon. He looks like a ghostbuster and the Americans + the Russian on his team aren’t trying to murder him every second of the day. There’s no way he was a fuckin’ Nazi! Get real.
Now onto his personality.
Medic is an extremely special character to a lot of people because he’s a special kind of crazy. He’s a nuanced character that gets more disturbing and loveable the more you get to know him. He’s completely off the wall.
He’s basically a ball of murderous, blood-thirsty insanity wrapped around a fluffy, loving core of tainted sugar.
Yes, he loves violence and dismemberment. Yes, he loves unethical experimentation on his team. Yes, he fuckin’ loves playing god. But, he also is a wonderfully sweet dove owner who treats his doves like his children. He also loves his team and misses them when he’s away. He’s highly affectionate (in his own twisted way) towards his teammates and Ms. Pauling. It’s also very obvious that he loves Heavy very much with an intensity that can either be considered romantic or queer-platonic love.
He’s very much a comfort character for a lot of TF2 fans.
-
Law (One Piece)
This man is a different kind of mad. While yes, it takes a fair bit of insanity to send 100 human hearts to the government, but Law is also the type of mad where he’s just really fuckin’ angry at the world.
With good reason. Law’s life has fuckin’ sucked!
He’s lost a lot in his short life and has suffered deeply because of it. Unlike Medic, Law is in no way a fluffy soft boy deep down. There’s definitely a core of dark ooze hidden under the fluffy hat and heart tattoos. He’s cold, cruel, and calculating. His trust is hard earned but rewarded if you can actually manage to earn it.
That’s not to say that Law is a block of ice though.
Law’s coldness is very nuanced. He is capable of love and when he feels it, he feels it deep down to his very soul. It was this capacity for love that turned him into the supposed monster he is today. If someone can worm their way past the iron cage around his heart (like the way his crew has) then that love will just stay there forever. It won’t be a soft love, or an openly affectionate love, but it is a protective and watchful love.
-
Herbert (Re-animator)
Oh good God! This tiny, fucked up homosexual is a gremlin, a weasel! A very real threat to anyone and everyone around him. Fuckin’ run!
Honestly, in a way, he may be the most frightening of them all.
He looks small and harmless in his little square glasses and soft features. But the moral grayness of this handsome little fuck is deep. Unlike Medic or Law, their is no earning his affection. He either likes you or he doesn’t. and if he doesn’t, he will make your life an absolute annoying, bitter hell.
God, I love him. I cannot express how much I fuckin’ adore him!
He’s honestly the least soft of the three. He’s creepy on main, pets and people will disappear around him. And if you are one of the rare people he attaches to, he will cling to your existence like a suffocating ooze. He will drag you into the pits of insanity with him. Not even hell wants his gay ass because he just will not stay dead!
Oh, and he likes to stick dead body parts together in ways that’re not supposed to go together and then re-animates them.
So that’s fun.
----Z----
Aaaand there we go. A little affection blurb about some of my favorite mad doctors.
heh not worm guy, i'm sorry. only doctor bdsm, countess sass and that-mage-that-should-chill
Look if you present to me a game with a hook like “look at these beautiful people who are written for the express purpose of being dateable that you can date” I will not care. If you present me a game where this skeevy guy is maybe?? a monster worm thing? idk?? I’m gonna be interested in finding out what’s up.
Also I changed my mind I looked at more characters and I want to date Valdemar.
Maurice Lannes
Better well-known under the name Morris Lane for his hard-boiled and sleazy novels, Maurice Lannes started writing pulp fiction at the end of WW2. In the 50′s he was one of the collaborators of publisher Roger Dermée and as Edmond Nouveau left his book-keeper job at Dermée’s Editions to found his own publishing house, Maurice Lannes followed him.
Here, one of his first attempts “ Eight girls disappeared” - 20 pages pulp in the collection “Aurore”.

INKtober Day 24-DR CLAW
You may not see his face, but you know his gloves and voice! Dr Claw, the ever, mysterious, devious, and menacing mad genius and leader of the MAD Organization, seeks one thing: total world domination! Yet, despite all his planning, resources, and agents, he’s always getting thwarted by the bumbling INTERPOL cyborg: INSPECTOR GADGET (and Gadget’s niece Penny and dog Brain)!! One can’t help but wonder if, constantly having your schemes somehow be undone by a buffoon and his family, isn’t having a increasingly negative effect on the mad doctor’s already disturbed temperament!
INKtober Day 3- DR NEFARIOUS
Driven mad by those who derived his genius as insanity, and the credit for his work being taken by others, a freak accident turned this once flesh and blood alien scientist into the mad organic life hating robot supervillain we know him today! From bio-blitorators, to altering time itself, and even breaking the walls of reality, Nefarious won’t rest till he’s ruler of the universe, and he’s destroyedthe galaxy’s greatest heroes: RATCHET AND CLANK!
INKtober Day 30- DR. GRIFFIN
Some scientific breakthroughs have terrible side effects, a fact Dr. Griffin learned only too late! Delving into sciences untested and unstable, turned Griffin into the notorious INVISIBLE MAN! Unable to be seen but unable to see even his own reflection was enough to drive Griffin to madness and villainy. Seeking to cause havoc and terror across the nation, and once restored, even sell his secrets to the highest bidder to “sweep the world with invisible armies!”
