Posted @withregram • @botanicaobscuraconference Botanica Obscura Keynote Speaker @haroldrothart is a master mandrake grower with over 20 years of experience tending to the most mystical of plants, the mandrake. There is arguably no plant with more magical lore than the mandrake. This plant has come back into popular consciousness lately through Hollywood productions like Harry Potter, but this human like root has occupied a place in the collective unconscious for thousands of years. Sacred to the ancient Egyptians and well know in the time@of the Old Testament as a miraculous fertility drug. Mandrake has been used in numerous ceremonial, medicinal and magical preparations. The plant is just as coveted as it was in the Middle Ages when people would often use cheaper substitutes for this valuable talisman. Finding genuine mandrake is difficult, and growing it yourself can sometimes seem even more difficult. Harold is going to be giving us a peek behind the curtain and teaching us about not only how to grow this plant and connect with it on a spiritual level, but also how to use it in formulas for magic and gnosis. There is so much historical information, myth and legen about this plant that you could spend an entire lifetime just studying mandrake. This presentation is a very special opportunity to get insight from someone who has worked with plants in a magical capacity for so many years. More info can be found on this and other presentations happening at the conference! Tickets are available on Eventbrite! Hope to see you there! #strangeplants #poisonousplants #toxicology #ethnobotany #banefulherbs #veneficium #thepoisonpath #phytochemistry #plantspirits #mandrake #madragora #mandragorium #botanicaobscuraconference #plantspiritmedicine #plantlore #strangeplants #poisonousplants #toxicology #ethnobotany #banefulherbs #veneficium #thepoisonpath #phytochemistry #plantspirits #esotericherbalism #plantmagick #masterplantspirit #magickalmandrake https://www.instagram.com/p/CZP8NO2ru4E/?utm_medium=tumblr

Botanica Obscura Conference Presenter and sponsor @themandragorium There are few people with as intimate a relationship with the infamously magickal mandrake as @themandragorium Kristy’s upcoming presentation at Botanica Obscura is going to unearth this deeply rooted topic once and for all! Growing Mandrake and Cultivating the Relationship, presented by Kristy Therrien Upon hearing the screams or calls of the Mandragora, one becomes seduced at the idea of growing their own magical creature. As humans, we have our own worries and stresses that hold us back from doing what we want, and those worries prevent us from tending these rare plant spirits. Let me take you through the process, from seed, all the way to maintaing your mandrake. Fear comes from the lack of knowing, and there is an extreme unknowing of this plant. Time to dispell your concerns and help you cultivate a new, lasting, relationship that will begin with a seed and end with power, attainment and prophecy. Tickets available on Eventbrite more info linked in bio! # #mandrake #madragora #mandragorium #botanicaobscuraconference #plantspiritmedicine #plantlore #strangeplants #poisonousplants #toxicology #ethnobotany #banefulherbs #veneficium #thepoisonpath #phytochemistry #plantspirits #esotericherbalism #plantmagick #masterplantspirit #magickalmandrake https://www.instagram.com/p/CY48i2FLPte/?utm_medium=tumblr

NPC Asks: (Not Accepting)
Madragora Emberflare, cousin to Tylestre, mother of Hani’s adoptive half-elven twins.
Madragora is… a mess. Or was. Not much is known about her current whereabouts - even her cousin, Tylestre (my Sin’dorei), doesn’t speak about her much because she’s an embarrassment to the family. Young and beautiful, she frittered away her time and training on sensate experiences, and unwittingly ended up pregnant after a fling with Cymrych. 9 months later, an envoy from Silvermoon delivered the twin children to the knight’s house, declaring the family did not want them back.
And that… is what’s known about Madragora.
The Badger, aka, “That fookin’ bastard”, aka Hath’s nemesis
Hazel ‘Hathaway’ Steelspark, my gnomish retired SI:7 agent and diplomat, hates most animals, especially if they pose a threat to her due to her dimunitive size. Naturally, this meant her spouse brought home a badger he found while digging a ditch. It’s lived there for years now with no sign of stopping, but Hazel hates it and curses its existence.
