Reading Kidnap-Fam fics just hits different when you realise that literally a few years later, Maedhros and Maglor commit a last kinslaying, Maedhros kills himself, Maglor becomes a beach cryptid, and Elros decides to become human, ruling a land over the seas, while Elrond decided to stay an elf, ruling over a city.

Elrond, who was so used to being surrounded by so many, to live alone.

Maglor, who was so used to be surrounded by so many, to live alone.

Elros, who was so used to being surrounded by so many, to die with someone by his side.

Maedhros, who was so used to being surrounded by so many, to die with someone by his side.

All four of them, once upon a time, as inseparable as peas in a pod, to grow as separate as each pea is removed from its pod.
