A magic item for use in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition tabletop role-playing game. This is a homebrew magic item created by Cloaks and Capes.
Cantrip Hand Cannon
Weapon (any crossbow or firearm ), uncommon (requires attunement)
“These magical weapons are made to be flashy. They are often painted bright blue or yellow, and arcane energy surges through them when they’re infused with cantrips.”
This weapon deals an extra 1d6 Force damage on a hit.
While attuned to this magic weapon you learn a cantrip from the Wizard spell list. The cantrip must have a casting time of one action and must target only one creature. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell. You can replace this cantrip with another after finishing a Long Rest.
Cantrip Infusion. You can infuse your attack with a cantrip you know. If the attack hits you deal damage as normal, then apply the effects of the cantrip as if it had been cast on the target. If the cantrip requires a saving throw the target makes it with Disadvantage. You can use this property a number of times equal to half of your proficiency bonus (rounded down) regaining expended uses daily at dawn.
Mastercraft Weapon. Add an additional half of your Proficiency Bonus (rounded down) to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
